So between possible extension for Pete Carroll and the expected release of Titans RB Chris Johnson, Friday will be another slow day in NFL.

Rumor is the Jets are highly interested.

Update

Another Update

Quote:

Will be a fairly sad day. But it's about that time.

Just doesn't consistently run as hard as he needs to. I think he still has a decent amount left in the tank, but whoever lands him is going to have to hope he wants to prove that this year.

The Jets should of signed Desean, CJ and then drafted Jordan Matthews. Imagine that upgrade on thier offense.

I wonder who else is in play for Johnson. So far I haven't much else besides the Jets.

Jacksonville should sign him to pair with Gerhart and draft Robinson. They want a runninggame well there ya go.

I wouldn't be surprised if CJ2K ends up a Raven.

It's not. $8 million for a home run hitter that averaged under 4 yards per carry and very rarely hits home runs. A combination of Greene, McCluster and a rookie can replace 1,000 yards on 280 carries.

I love CJ. Was one of the few Titans fans that was happy when we drafted him in the first. But it's time to cut ties. He's just making way too much money for a guy that hasn't averaged over 4.5 yards per carry in four seasons. Regardless of the offensive line he's running behind, that production is replaceable. Especially if you're given $8 million to spend on a position that very few teams truly value these days.

They owe him a lot of money if he stays, and he's just not that good. Yeah, I don't blame them.

Its too bad there really isn't any great RBs in this year's draft to replace him. Shonne Greene time, right?

Only way he's coming here is if he knows off top he is a "Right player Right Price signing*" and that he's a backup. With that said, he isn't coming here.

*Right Player. Right Price = Vet Min

And I don't want him anyway.

His first three years in the league, he was a top three running back. Not going to let the last couple years overshadow the fact that, for his first few years in the league, he was the most explosive player in the NFL. And I don't have any sort of idea what inflated stats means.

His first three years he had 925 carries for 4,598 yards, averaging 5 yards per carry while adding 137 receptions. Sure, he had his share of big runs but I've never quite understood why that equals inflated stats.

well you said it yourself. all those 80 yard runs really boost those totals/averages.. whenever I watched him, his runs would be like 1,2,15,-1,2,65, etc...

Is he a good blocker? Haven't watched a lot of Titans games since he was drafted.
