Alright guys, I had my first mock offseason and it was pretty good. Got caught up in FFMD so now I'll do a Mock Draft since the Free Agency period is pretty much set (unless we sign DJax haha). Ok, once again I used a mock draft website (fanspeak.com) that way it was more fun for me. There are some places where I got lucky and some rounds I reached for a guy I thought fit best. Overall, I think this could happen with some luck in round 1. Here's the link: http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/draft.php?d=dpxvxt

1.19: Eric Ebron, TE, UNC - No brainer here. A couple guys fell and I think he should be our number one hope for pick 19.
2.50: David Yankey, G, Stanford - Some people think he's a first round guy, I just know we could use help on our line so sign him up. He's a versatile guy and that's supposedly what Philbin wants.
3.81: Shane Skov, ILB, Stanford - I'm not his biggest fan, but I like bolstering our LB corps like we did in FFMD. I think we'll try grabbing him or Borland (I'd prefer Borland but will they use their second rounder on him?)
4.116: Billy Turner, OT, NDSU - Possible starter at RT in the fourth round? I'll take it...it's possible in this draft so don't go crazy.
5.155: De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon - I know someone who's gonna love this pick (housed). Now that we have Moreno, we can afford to grab this guy (or someone like him) to bolster our return game and depth. He can also be used as a gadget player if Bill Lazor doesn't prove to be a Sherman clone.
6.190: Jon Halapio, G, Florida - More guard depth. We need it.
7.234: Willie Snead, WR, Ball St. - I think this guy could be a playmaker. I'll take that in Round 7 all day. It was between him, Norwood, and Gallon. The hair put him over the top.

Critique away boys!

I know next to nothing about most all college prospects but as a student at UF I don't want Halapio on this team.

For a more positive contribution, I like the specific positions that were drafted.

I would prefer a guard drafted a bit higher. I don't know if Ebron will last till 19. Myself I'm not projecting Ebron to be a star.

Nice draft. If it played out that Ebron was still available at 19 I would be extremely disappointed if we passed on him.

I like Ebron, Skov, and Turner.

Not a fan of Yankey (he will be good in a Power Scheme, but will likely struggle in the ZBS….also was rather weak at the combine….

I like Thomas and would like to have him or Archer…whoever is available.

It's not that I love DeAnthony Thomas, I just thought in FFMD it was silly to pass up on a McCluster-esque player that late in the draft. Remember, McCluster was a 2nd round pick and while same may disagree, I think they're pretty similar talents. My two man-crush players in this class as of now are Sammy Watkins, who I believe will be a top WR in the NFL within a few years of being drafted (assuming he doesn't get stuck in Oakland or some place with a garbage QB) and Tre Mason, although I'm starting to cool a little bit on him.

I know I was just messing with you man. I'm not that high on Mason, and you know I absolutely LOVE Sammy Watkins (have since high school).

I like the first one a lot better. Not a huge Yankey fan, but the other picks were very good. Would be very happy with that one.

I don't think the projected first round safeties are worth first round picks, but I like the project guys and think they could be just as good as the first round guys if trained up. Plus safety isn't really a need. It's more of a want. I would be perfectly happy is we went with an ILB, a QB, and 2 Olinemen in the first 4 rounds.
