About the release, that must be what Kelly's call was about.

Looks like we might be drafting a receiver in the first round then.

SAMMY WATKINS and yeah WR in the first is a must now but not Marquise Lee O LORD NO NOT MARQUISE LEE

There's obviously more to this than even we know.
They released him because obviously no team was interested.

His contract is a big reason for that but not a big enough reason for a team to neglect adding a playmaker of DeSean's caliber.

This appears eerily similar to the Hernandez situation.
I think legal issues will begin to leak out and there will be a giant red flag on DeSean.

It'll be interesting to see if a team takes a chance on him.
Yeah, there just has to be more to the story. As much as I HATE losing such a talented WR, I'm sure our FO had very good reasons for doing so. At this point I'm just more angry that the situation had to happen rather than angry at any particular parties. Just unfortunate.

Little surprised they cut him, especially now.

I've mentioned before why I was fine with them moving him, but I guess this new info on the gang ties....specifically members in his posse, where he was questioned, was what did it for them.

I think we're a better team without him, maybe not as potent of an offense obviously, but I think it might be a good thing going forward.

Now I just remembered my only jersey has 'Jackson 10' on the back.

Insult to injury.

My jerseys are:

Arrow My own named one, then I hurt my knee

Arrow Westbrook, then he got old and injured

Arrow Bradley, then he got injured then released

So I'm not having the greatest luck either!

Can't go wrong with LeSean McCoy but with that kind of luck, I'd suggest you not even go there.

I'm not happy to lose his speed, but I am happy the team is distancing itself from a player that exhibits the kind of behavior Desean does. That article was very interesting, I had no idea he had been throwing up gang signs IN GAMES. That is a problem, no other way of putting it, and the Eagles made the right move here. He also is being investigated for insurance fraud, so there's that too.

This is terrible terrible news. Man this team has made a giant step backwards.

I can almost guarantee you guys that he will be a NY Giant this season.

Man I hate this.

Unbelievable.

One of my favorite players in the history of the Eagles, gone.

I agree that there's likely more to this story than we know, and it very well might be Hernandez-like.. but still, this move doesn't help our offense and sets us back.

My guess is he'll go to the Jets, Vick/Moronwig will talk Rex into making it happen.

I'm not worried at all, we are guaranteed to take a WR in the draft and it is full of stud prospects at WR who may become an even better fit in the offense. Desean's role in this offense will be replaced by Jeremy Maclin for now. It's fine to speculate that the offense has taken a major step back, but I really, really don't think that is going to be the case.

Worst move ever. Wow. This really makes me question our FO. And I couldn't have been more wrong about this situation. Very dissapointed.

Don't know how people didn't see this coming. Why would you question the front office on this move after what happened in New England? It's Chip Kelly we're talking about. Worst move ever? Please.

And to those who are upset that the Eagles did not receive compensation: if you recall, they tried. No one wants to trade for a player who makes no effort to conceal his affiliations with a well known gang. It's that simple.

The sky is not falling. I'll be more concerned when reports surface that Evan Mathis is released due to concerns about his involvement with the Aryan Brotherhood. Until then, relax.

If he signs with the Raiders, someone might get killed on the field.

The one positive for me is that we should now go back to having a traditional 6ft+, 220lb #1 WR... should provide a bit more balance in the grand scheme of things.
