I know this dude is a Diva X3, but his skill set is nasty.
He scares me more than any Eagle, including Mccoy.

If we could manage to release a couple players, I could easily see us get him under the Cap.
(and there are still players that we could cut)

We could also get him for something probably similar to the Brandon Marshall trade to the Bears a few years ago, or even less.

Or better yet, the Eagles could just release him as been mentioned and we could get him for a more cap friendlier contract & not trading pick(s).
(but then your competing against all other 30 teams (--Skins & --Eagles)

But what if we could get Jackson for say our 3rd rounder this yr & say...a 4th next season or so? Do you do it?

Then we can concentrate on other positions in the draft, while still having our 2nd rounder, or could trade down and get a few of those picks back.

I don't know about you, but having RG3 @QB
Pierre Garcon, DeSean Jackson & Andre Roberts @WR (as well as maybe Moss/Hankerson/Robinson??)
Jordan Reed (and maybe Owen Daniels??)
& Almo & Helu @RB

Would help me sleep easier at night.
Very Happy

And no more 13 first half Total TD's like we had a season ago.

If our Defense is going to suck, which I have no reason to suspect otherwise. We better be explosive on Offense.

But god forbid the Redskins do something to help out RG3 a little bit. (or..a lot)
Everyone will hem & Holler that Vinny is back if we make this move.

Sorry, this was a question & rant all in the same thread. lol Laughing

What say you on getting Jackson here?
Yes or No

If we traded for Jackson, we would have to come up with his 10.5 mill contract this year. We obviously dont have the cap space. If he is cut, some team will pay him the money he wants. Its not going to happen IMO.

Where are we at the moment in cap space?
Anyone know?
And who would we cut, to make it doable?

I think I'm reading this right.

But this site has us at 6,838,369M in cap space available.
http://www.spotrac.com/cap-tracker/nfl/

I'm certain we could get under that pretty easily.

Cut Bowen, Chester &/or Polumbus
Release Tanard Jackson who's still under contract for this season

I'm sure there are others, but too lazy to look.

But I know we could get enough for Jackson pretty easily.

We don't even have a 1st rd pick to draft & sign either.

Trade Orakpo alone gets us the 11-12 M back. Cool Cool Cool

Jackson is soft (he's not known for going over the middle), injury prone, and has a me first pay me attitude. I want nothing to do with him.

Hes a explosive WR we need. He js a true down the field speed kills guy and he can at ST.

Itd open our playbook up with garcon having more one on ones

We have an advantage with desean- hate for philly and rg3 arm.I can see us going after him

Think about it. Philly is not in cap trouble, the only reason they would get rid of him is if he's such a head case they couldn't deal with him anymore. Why would you want someone like that on your team?

Brandon Marshall did morr dumb things than jackson and the bears love him heck miami regret letting him and we have some more divas around.

I want him because it opens up the field mote it sounds crazy but jackson is still young too we can go into the years with three young guys.

Just saying bro! Jacksom the fastest player and is a PR/KR guy he can benefit. Lets see what his contract is . If you get him we can use the second on a FS or Ol

If we can get him for a late pick it sign him as a FA I'm all for it, let's us focus on the Oline early in the draft, or if one of the top safety's some how falls out of the first we could land them, cut Chester, go OT or G with our top pick

Would love to have him here... unfortunately he thinks he's a top 5 receiver and wants to be paid like one, so no thanks

Only if he's released. No way in the world should we trade for him and no way does he deserve his current contract

John Clayton said that it would take a 3rd or higher to probably grab Jackson, but then you have the cap issue that we cannot afford. Considering we have to still pay for our draft picks and maybe add a few more pieces.

Honestly, we need to have a taller WR that is going to be a red zone threat.

And honestly if you factor in what Gruden looks for in his WR's it doesn't really fit

speed works in every offense and not every WR Cincy signed or drafted was 6'5.

Its not about being 6'5. Its about being above 6 foot, 190 pounds or so (so lanky) but able to climb the latter and high point the ball with your hands. I believe agility was more important then flat line speed.

DJax doesn't fit that bill and he's paid to much to be a slot guy.
