Insurance for Spikes and depending on how good he turns out he could compete for a starting job over Rivers.

He is a 2 down LB which is perfect for the SLB with us. Play him there then take him out and replace him with Robey on 3rd down.

Reminds me of the Kiko Alonso pick last year. Everyone wanted Arthur Brown over him this time last year.

Just going off where he was graded at. Doesn't mean he won't show up and play better.

From what I've read he's a great fit. 3 year starter and was the signal caller - a lot to like. Seems like a great leader to pair with Kiko.

I had a 4th round grade on him.

I am pleased we took him though. Great guy to learn behind Spikes and eventually start. Needed the depth.

agreed, even if he doesnt start right away he has great linebackers to learn from, its a great thing to have depth.

He will also play Special Teams.

I say we draft core ST players from here on out. Cool

He seems like a duplicate to Bradham without the hitting power. I don't know if I agree with the pick yet. I can't see anything special with him. He doesn't look to have the instincts Kiko does to make up for his lack of athletic ability. I do like his size though. Hoping he turns into a Karlos Dansby.

How is he a duplicate to Bradham? He out weighs Bradham and is a natural MLB, he is a thumper. Not all LBs have the instincts of Kiko.

Definitely would have preferred Borland, but I don't hate the pick.

Some think Borland is better suited for a 3/4 thumper.

He might be. That would make it an even better pick for SF.
