The former Eagle, as well? Hmm... I assume he'll play inside, next to Riley.

I like it, He and Sharpton were two thumpers last year. That both had great years heading to the LOS. Granted they both had good Dls but between the two should have good production.

Good signing, more depth and competition never hurts. Another good special teams signing also!

Hopefully he plays like Air Jordan for us! Cool

Yes, he'll play inside. He played inside in Kansas City's 3-4 last year next to Derrick Johnson

This is great news he was one of my targets I have wanted us to sign. He had a nice season with the Chiefs last season, and could be a solid stop gap for us the next few seasons if nobody else claims the spot next to Riley. This allows us to not feel forced into taking an ILB this season if nobody falls to us in the mid rounds, as we now have Riley, Jordan, Robinson, Sharpton, and Hayward. That is a decent amount of depth/young talent, and allows us to see what we have before going all out at the position.

Here is an article I posted on here awhile back when I first wanted us to sign Jordan:
http://www.yardbarker.com/all_sports/articles/meet_akeem_jordan_the_unsung_member_of_the_chiefs_fab_four_lb_corps/14814695

If you don't feel like reading, here is why he is important to us:

"Jordan often is required to stay put and cover the middle zone, making sure tight ends and running backs don't release freely into the secondary. It's anything but a glamorous task, but Jordan takes pride in it."

"He came to the Chiefs with a reputation for being assignment sure and willing to do the grunt work of an inside linebacker, a duty that allows the outside linebackers to rush the edge and snatch the headlines."

Here is another article that shows how good he can be in coverage:
http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2012/8/2/3214038/philadelphia-eagles-linebacker-akeem-jordan

Basically don't just look at his stats and write him off. He was asked to do a lot of the dirty work taking up blocks, and also was responsible for a lot of the coverage with the Chiefs, which is perfect for what we have set up here. He can help our OLB's have an easier time getting to the QB by doing the dirty work, but also will work great next to Riley as Jordan is good in coverage. Great signing by us!

Good signing...PLUS he's a JMU alum. I finally get to root for a JMU alum in a Redskins uni again. Last one IIRC was Gary Clark.

Think he's the type to wear Jordan sweaters every day? Just kidding. He's a solid player for what he does. Glad to have him.

1. Riley
2. Sharpton
3. Robinson
4. Jordan
5. Hayward

IMO. This signing probably makes Ilb a late round pick. Sucks for me, because I love the guys in round 2 and 3 but I'm just not sure we draft an Ilb that high anymore

So you're saying these 5 make the final roster ? I'm hoping Compton lights it up.. He's my dark horse / underdog guy .. He hada heck of a career at Nebraska .. I'm still shocked ,, SHOCKED ! Shocked He went undrafted ..
