what do you guys think about sanchez lighting it up , in chip kellys offense. Don't get me wrong I wanted him out of here also but I wonder if rex's defense first run the ball every down out dated mentality did him in .0 first round picks on offense in 5 years ,0 edge rushers ,its a passing league I hope im wrong but this could get old quick.

Outdated? The Seahawks just won a super bowl doing it.

I don't really understand this myth about the running game being dead or "outdated". The two best teams in the league last year (Seahawks and 49ers) were based around running the ball.

Both teams have significantly better pass rushes, offensive lines, and secondaries not to mention QBs. Philosophy isnt outdated we just still cant generate a 4 man rush and our line is very inconsistant.

Considering how often we add to our defense, its really not as impressive as we make it seem. Blame the lack of dominance in cincinnati on the vanilla calls, but all ya want, but they didnt exactly dig deep in the book either. Were going to have to really out-grit teams on both sides of the ball to even win 9 games this year IMO.

I know. I'm just saying there's nothing wrong or outdated about the philosophy.

Hoyer is the starter in Cleveland. I don't know why Pettine took so long to decide. I don't think Johnny will be ready this year. Let him sit and soak it in, and then see what he can do next season.

I have always been a proponent to letting rookie QB'S sit and learn for a year or two. The fact that we threw Geno to the wolves last year was unavoidable. But I truly feel this benefitted us in his development. If I was Mike Pettine I would probably start Hoyer and if things start going south in a game. That's when you throw Manziel in. He is doing the right thing IMO.

How about Bell and Blount getting in trouble. Bad enough when 1 RB gets in trouble, but when 2 do that really sucks. Not sure how the process works on a suspension and all, but I know it can't be good for the steelers regardless.

The next play Jarvis Jones makes will be his first. One of the easier bust predictions in a while.

Yep.

I laughed when everyone was so upset that we took Sheldon over him.

I don't think Geno would have the same reference for comparison when it comes to evaluating his performance if he'd sat out last season. Geno's underwhelming performance should have given Geno and coaching staff valuable feedback.

Depends on how you look at it. If Sanchez didn't get hurt, Geno would of had time to learn the game more like Kaep did before making his start. So his start would have been much smoother than the mess we seen last year. I always like the idea of a QB sitting for a minute unless we land a elite prospect.

So maybe we can do that Ellis for House trade now?

Shouldn't we be able to get a little more for Ellis? Maybe add a pick to it.

I'm all for trading Ellis for a CB but House? Is he even good?

He's been buried on the depth chart in Green Bay. He has performed well, and seems to be strictly an outside CB, which is what we need. From what I've read, when the Packers go to nickel and dime, they move one of their starting CBs inside and House usually lines up outside.

I don't know what other CBs we can trade for, there aren't many proven guys out there that teams are looking to get rid of. Idzik still has Seattle connections, so maybe they could be a trade partner too. They have some young promising CBs as well. If we do flip Ellis, we will need to make sure we have a backup to Snacks though.

I read on here that Dion Jordan sucks.

I hate every poster that was blowing him before the draft. So glad we couldn't get him.
