Wow. Hopefully our coaching staff can help him out. I hope he has to fight for a starting job though.

Titans signed RT Michael Oher to a four-year, $20 million contract with $9.5 million guaranteed.

We have to believe Ozzie Newsome is chuckling at this one. Oher never got better during his five-year stint in Baltimore, struggling mightily in spot duty at left tackle and performing at a well-below-average clip on the right side. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 68 tackle in 2013, among 76 qualifiers. Oher was a dead-last 76th in run blocking with eight sacks allowed. He'll replace David Stewart at right tackle in Nashville. For the second consecutive offseason, the Titans are having a head-scratching free agency period under scuffling GM Ruston Webster. (At least they "landed" Charlie Whitehurst.)

That's a lot, kinda lol

That's a pretty big investment in him, but I hope that a change in scenery/moving back closer to his family can help make a difference for him along with us coaching him up. Hopefully he can put the bad Baltimore years behind him and start fresh here.

Awful signing. Would rather play Stingily there.

I can't say awful signing because he does have talent so hopefully we can get the best out of him with this change of scenery. I am skeptical but hopeful. Neutral

I thought Stingliy deserved a chance to start. A lot to put into Oher.

But.....LOL at Rotoworld. I know for sure someone on their staff has been hurt by a Titan or a Titans fan.

I've been pretty supportive of the FO's moves, but man I really have to scratch my head on this one. If they got him dirt cheap to maybe compete for the starting job, I could see that. But this contract is too hefty to say he'll just be a backup, IMO. I'm not feeling this one at all, but I'll keep hope alive. Confused Rolling Eyes

Guys, i feel just like you do, but this will make you feel better.

We cut Big Country, who was past his prime. He had a big salary for 2014. Michael Oher doesn't cover his full salary. So we still gained some cap space and got at least someone with experience. Most people will be thrilled about this signing.... but only because they know who he is. He's not a good lineman right now. Maybe with better support around him he can possibly live up to his potential.
