Several reports estimate that the Broncos have about $6-7M in cap space after signing the 2014 free agents. Broncos are likely to carry over most of that to 2015 to cover the resigning cost of DT. It currently looks like DT will get a contract worth over $12M/year. |

I think its pretty safe to say that either DT or JT will be franchised next year and the other will get a contract. No way Elway lets them go. Id say DT gets the deal and JT gets franchised. _________________

Isn't Terrance Knighton a free agent after next season as well?Locking him down is going to be extremely difficult if he has another season like last year. And it would really stuck to lose him. Can't remember having a more disruptive DT in all my years of watching the Broncos... _________________

Yeah youre totally right. Hes a free agent and will be tough to resign him if he has another solid year.
Is it just me or does Fox/Elway just love to rotate cheap NT's. Bunkley was cheap, he had a career year, then let him leave. Knighton was cheap, hes has a solid year and a free agent to be. I dont think Fox puts a lot of value at the NT spot. He seems to be ok with taking a flier on a cheap guy. _________________

I remember hearing/reading something somewhere that said Knighton is dissatisfied with his current contract and would like to be extended. To me, that sounds like an agent leaking the kind of information that ultimately portends to a training camp/preseason hold out. _________________ big_palooka:

As far as I'm concerned he can go [inappropriate/removed] himself if he's not gonna be a team player _________________

Easier said than done. We have like 6-7 guys coming into FA next season who should each deman at least 4-5M per season, some much, much more (DT). |

He's definitely not one of the best DTs in the game. He had a very good, possibly career year last year, but that doesn't make him elite, nor should Denver pay him as such. _________________

I dont think Knighton will hold out...
....He's got to know that with the incoming players that a bigger contract isn't possible now..
..he's got to show up with another good season....to get good cash |
