Getting to be a bit of a logjam at rush end. It'll be interesting if Dave decides to take another at 3.

You can never really have enough though.

That's why I think it's more so between Bridgewater/Mack at this point. Mack is versatile and good in coverage so he wouldn't count as a LEO, would likely be put at LB. With these signings (unless we plan to for some stupid reason move Branch, or we decide to cut Babin before the season) I just don't see where Clowney would fit in. Obviously he has superior talent to any of these guys, but a guy like Mack has serious talent too and more versatile, making him a better fit if we did go defense at #3.
Mack would definitely play downs at LEO here. He'd be all over the defense.

Also, Clowney still fits in. Gus has always said he wants 3-4 guys playing LEO. It would be a 3-4 player rotation at LEO regardless if which of Clowney or Mack is brought in.

No clue what the contract is like, but you heard it here first. Badin isn't making the team.

true, with so many additions to the DL, are we really thinking of going that way in the 1st round? I still hope so, but we added like 4-5 guys

I hope having two aging pass rushers doesn't dictate what we do with the third pick in the draft. If that's the case, something is wrong.

That being said, the defensive line is at worst shored up. I'm hoping Dave can address the FS position sometime this spring. Cyp needs a running mate back there.

well this is weird, he voids his own contract and when no one calls, he comes crawling back

As I mentioned in the thread where we discussed him getting cut, it'd been suggested that he'd re-sign for a smaller # but with guaranteed money. His last 2 years that he voided had 0 guaranteed money left on it.

Eh, could have done without this signing. But if he wants to be here and Gus wants him here, just another pass rush option which isn't a bad thing i guess.
