Saw on twitter. Either we trust someone currently on our roster or SLB just became a bigger need

Wow. The Bengals aren't a team that is known for cutting veterans to save cap space, so this certainly comes as a surprise. We have some money to spend and a couple of holes that need to be filled, and they can't all come from the draft. I expect us to sign a couple of mid-tier free agents over the next few weeks.

All the lb spots in this defense are sort of interchangeable. I expect this means vinnie rey will play more. And that the Bengals will match any contract given to him.

I'm surprised they did it before the draft or before they signed a replacement free agent.

Not exactly. There's a reason were always targeting college DEs and oversized LBs for SLB. I would agree Vinnie has the skillet to play SLB for us, but not Porter. I think this means Vinnie Rey is a starter or, as I've been expecting, a SLB in the first three rounds.

That's exactly what i'm saying. He'll start, and they'll be just fine.

There is so much young potential at LB right now that this move won't hurt the team.

You got Burfict and Maualuga still as the starters. Next logical guy would be Vincent Rey if he stays. Then the backups would probably be Emmanuel Lamur, Jayson DiManche, and then the last spot is up for grabs.

Vinnie has a good skill set for it, and I don't think any of us want to see Maualuga back at SLB (cue five year old quote battle!). I just don't want to us get too confident with Vinnie considering he's never really played extensive time.

Agree with 'J' here.

Not surprised they cut Harrison, just a little surprised at the timing.
