So what do you think about Ginn coming to the browns. I guess if we get him on the cheap he would be a good pickup.

Meh.

He's better than Little, but his value and ability mirrors Benjamin's pretty closely.

I wouldn't hate it but it doesn't make us a whole lot better either.

I think its a good/ok signing. He isnt going to be a #2 so he is going to add some good depth. He at least brings the threat of being a deep threat

I just don't understand our obsession with adding mediocre talent.... Just draft one of the WR at 26 or 2nd rd. they are better and better value

No different than adding Hawkins. Same age, both really fast. Ginn does have a lot more success at WR in the NFL. Both short (I think Ginn has a few inches on him).

Be honest DP, its the Ohio thing. Not the mediocre talent.

doesnt mean we wont draft one early int he draft. We still needed depth at WR. For a 3rd, 4th, or 5th option. Ginn is just fine. Browns signed a WR who was the 3rd/4th best receiver on a playoff team. It was a decent signing.

Its not great but its not awful.

Also you say stop adding mediocre talent. Well we are bring in mediocre talent to replace awful talent ( Greg Little/Devone Bess) So its an upgrade.

The only way this signing can be viewed as bad IMO is if Ginn is pegged as our new #2 WR which I think is very unlikely

I'll take even average talent over crap like Little and Bess.

It is partially the ohio thing and partially the mediocre thing, my point is if he had not gone to ohio st. Idt ppl would be that anxious to sign him. He isn't that good, would rather take my chance in a draft pick

He isn't that good, that's why it would have been a depth and KR return signing. That wouldn't have made it a bad signing...unless we gave him starting WR money.

All things being equal, I'd prefer a local guy I watched and followed in high school and college.

I have no interest in selecting a lesser talent simply because he's a local kid.

I've never seen Ted Ginn do this:
