Solid depth with some upside. I agree.

I really like the chances of Willie Young and Walter Thurmond coming here and not leaving, Gus Bradley I'm pretty sure has closed the deal on just about every guy that visits from what i've heard.

Is this guy any good? I feel this is more depth when it is upgrades at the starting spots this team needs.

He's a special teamer who looked decent when he came in for injuries and such.

Just a guy.

This is what I thought. I mean, if he helps this team, I won't complain. I just hope he can end up more than 'just a guy' and become a bit more in this scheme.

Looking at his size and reading he might have deficiencies when it comes to coverage, is a shot at situational LEO in his future?

You need guys like that. And you never know; he could provide an impact in the right situation.

Quote:
Bucs Nation on Watson:

Watson's a tremendous athlete and dominant special teamer who never quite found a role on defense. There have been some suggestions he struggled to learn the system, and his reactions on the field can be a bit slow. Still, he was pretty solid when he got a chance at extended playing time as a Sam linebacker last year.

Watson has also on occasion displayed some potential as a pass rusher, with his hand off or on the ground. He has tremendous burst and speed, and he flashes the ability to turn the corner and get to the quarterback, but he lacked a counter-move to go with his speed rush. I did see him execute a speed-to-power move effectively a couple of times, and if he can build on that he could actually turn into a quality situational pass-rusher. I could see him playing either Sam or (situational) Leo in your scheme, if the coaches can help him improve a little.

Watson will be OLB on first and second down, but is a really good rusher, probably a back-up LEO on third down- lightning package #Jaguars

Starting OLB?

Interested to see what the terms are but I like this move. Decent depth but coach him up a bit and you never know, he might have another level in him.

Yeah man, really hoping we get Thurmond! That's the one Seahawk I've been really hoping we get. We should probably hear something soon.

Dekoda is a great guy. Sad to see him leave Tampa. He never really found a role in our defense but he is truly a monster on special teams. He is a freakish athlete who has blocked multiple punts.

Im not too familiar with your defense but he could be a solid OLB on 1st/2nd with packages installed to let him rush the passer.

I will continue to keep tabs on him while he's in JAX.
