And before anyone says anything about me not being from Ohio, I feel exactly the same way about the teams from my area that I like in other sports.

The only relevance for players from "Ohio" is that they may be more likely to sign close to home, especially at the end of their careers. No one wants to bring in crappy Ohio players. If there are good ones and we can use that as a bargaining chip you would be stupid not to, but otherwise where a player is from has no bearing. Not wanting a player because of where he is from (Michigan aside...sometimes Laughing ) is no better than the opposite and neither of them are how any NFL franchises run their business.

I agree completely.

Wouldn't mind Ginn as the return man and a 4/5 receiver though.

Small one or 2 year deal with an up guaranteed extra year wouldn't be too bad.

But my wanting him has nothing to do with glenville or osu. Just speed.

yes but location can benefit. If its his hometown, the browns have a recruiting chip on that.

Look at LeCharles Bentley. When he hit the free agent market he was considered one of the best OL in the league. He was an all pro guard and all pro center. Could of picked any team but choose Cleveland because it was home.

Its not like the Browns are only looking at players for home town than ability level. They are looking at ability level and if their hometown was the greater cleveland area it is the cherry on top.

I like the idea of recruiting or giving guys a chance who are from the area because you have no idea how they might play by playing in their hometown. They can be more comfortable on the field, have less off the field distrations and all that good stuff.

I would never sign a guy just because he is from Cleveland first and for most but if he had talent and he was a Cleveland guy I would give him a chance.

I honestly don't see the big deal of liking that we have local boys on our side. I'm fiercely loyal to my family, community state. IF he's a good football player and local, I love it. I'll take mine to beat yours any day.

Its only an issue when it blinds people, or when they do things like suggest we draft Buckeys extensively every year

Agreed. Indubitably.

Another reason why I love it is to fluff mjchjastric's skirt.

We need a backup QB we should consider Troy Smith. We need some depth at LB maybe Vernon Gholston?

I dont know how he is doing me dirty?

I was never the one who said we need to bring in ex ohio state players or cleveland guys. All I said was that I love that Whitner is an Cleveland guy who has been a damn good NFL player the past 3years or so in the NFL.

someone is being an ass for the sake of being an ass

When ppl have talked about bring in Cleveland guys, no one ever said bring in what ever cleveland/ohio state guy there is, so why in the hell would anyone consider bring in those ex buckeyes who have been out of the league for a couple seasons
