Not really lol.

This move adds a dynamic playmaker to the return game and the passing game.

CJ has no part in either of those.

Side note. I still think CJ is gone.

McCluster has had success at RB.

If we choose to use him there.

Some on twitter think Washington might get the axe.

Think he meant Leon, not Nate.

No way Nate is gone. I don't think we can risk that, IMO. He's the only sure-fire thing we have at the WR position. Wright looks great, but we don't know if he'll still keep improving/he could fall off/etc, Hunter is still developing, etc. Washington is the one guy we have that Locker(or whoever else plays QB) can fully trust to be in the right spot every time.

No offense but Washington isn't a sure thing at all. Washington will have a good game and disappear for the next 5 weeks. Wright is the most consistent player we got on offense.

And the tweet came after both Leon and McCluster were signed. I don't approve of releasing Washington and I don't think it'll happen but just saying what I saw.

The reason Washington will "disappear" is because he's usually the one getting covered by the best CB on the other team, and Washington isn't a good enough player to consistently beat top end CBs in the NFL. He's a #2 WR, not a #1. But take him away and that #1 CB goes to either Wright or Hunter, most likely Wright, and our passing game is taken away.

Assuming Wright continues to emerge, he'll eventually become that guy that takes on the #1 CB. He's got the skillset to beat #1 CBs, too, which will also help open up Nate.

But that's not guaranteed.

Yeah the days of Nate drawing the #1 CB are pretty much over. Hunter and Wright are becoming much more of a threat. That being said I think Nate should have pretty good year Laughing

Yes really. McCluster will be used out of the backfield as well as in the return game and WR. We have no use for CJ at all. Plus we resigned Washington so I'm sure McCluster won't do much returning anyway(maybe just PR). McCluster will have a bigger role in our offense than what he had in KC.

Not saying we won't use Dex out of the backfield...Or he won't have a bigger role here..

But to say we have no use for CJ at all is pretty crazy lol. I think Ken can get much more outta CJ then Munch could even dream of...

Not to mention when the guy wants to turn it on...He can still take it to the house from anywhere on the field.

Finally a legit return game and another playmaker. Can't complain.

doubt it why would they resign Leon Washington today if the signing of McCluster means we don't need Washington. I don't wanna see Nate go, but he likely is absent a pay cut. Especially with McCluster in the fold.

My main question is this. I know he can and likley will do both, but I wonder what McCluster's main job in TN will be? Is it to be a change of pace back who compliments Greene and catches out of the backfield. or is it as a slot WR who maybe picks up a carry or two. My guess is that its as a WR and that they will still look for a RB in the draft.

Like the move though. Kendall Wright and McCluster will be fun to watch.

We know how Kendall Wright was eating up the field..

He may draw more attention..

Good to grab a guy with speed who can sometimes take that away.

Not to mention, the ability to return punts.

That's hard to say considering Munch had a role in CJ's 2k season. No he wasn't calling plays but part of his responsibility under the old regime as o-line coach was to help make preparations for the running game.

Whiz has only ever had 2 backs who went over 1200 yds and that's Ryan Mathews last year and fast Willie Parker in 05-06

Still scares me to cut Nate unless we plan on signing a guy in FA. The only proven guy we have behind Nate is Kendall. Plus Nate and Locker seem to have good chemistry.

I like this signing though. Think I would've rather had Sproles if he was cut but McCluster will get the job done.

I really like this pickup. When was the last time we had a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield

I like the signing. He can be used in several roles on the team. I wanted Sproles but McCluster is a younger version. He is pretty durable to be 170 lbs, I hope he stays that way for the Titans.
