defense has gottan a lot better today!!!

Has it ? I feel like it's a lateral move. Maybe slightly better whey dansby

I like Whitners coverage abililty. Yea Ward was great around the LOS but a safety shouldnt have to play around the LOS. Improving the ILB position will fix that.

Browns washed at safety and improved ILB. Defense gotten a lot better. Browns biggest weakness was ILB and they addressed it. Hope they sign another ILB. Also Whitner will be cheaper than Ward IMO

I wouldn't say a lot better. Until we have replaced that gaping hole at FS and #2 ILB we aren't a lot better.

Fs?

I though Gipson was pretty solid, especially for a 23 year old guy in his second year.

Most of the scouting services, pff, etc, seemed to agree.

If Gipson is our weak link, we're doing ok.

"(G)aping"? That's just a bit hyperbolic, yes?

Let's put it this way, it is nice to know we haven't really lost anything on defense and are only an hour into free agency.

If Whitner and Dansby equal Ward and Jackson, that is a rather large positive for me at the hour of 5:04 while Michigan still sucks.

At FS? Sure

At ILB?

@TomPelissero: Donte Whitner's 4-year deal with #Browns is worth $28M. Includes $11M fully gtd in 2014, plus $2M of $4.5M base in '15 for injury only.

Plus Ward knows he has the chance to make a run at the Super Bowl = extra money he will make for playoff games and the SB if Denver goes that route again which is much more likely than us doing it.

5'8" 31 year old CB. I hope that's just a special teams addition, would hate to see him as a starter
