He's good not great

most people think he is fantastic because he showed up big on prime time games.

He really struggled down the stretch, especially in games where Toler was out for some reason. Tavon Austin made him look absolutely silly, albeit it was 1 catch, and Michael Floyd has his way with him a few weeks later as well.

Point is, he's not a true shut down corner. I wouldn't consider him elite. He's a very good physical corner who can match up with teams #1 WRs, and make great plays. But he has a tendency to get lazy in coverage/be over confident in his athleticism and can get beat for the big play and isn't a CB who is going to completely take a WR out of a game.

That said, with Sam Shields getting nearly $10 mil/year, Davis is likely going to command shutdown corner money.

Sounds a bit like Antonio Cromartie when we acquired him in 2010.

I guess Peyton Manning was a bad draft pick because he was eventually cut.

Really surprised nothing has happened here yet, considering he's been close twice...with two different teams at least.

Maybe Colts are making a bigger push since we lost Bethea.
