Borland was gone, we picked Richardson here. Great value at #59 and RT was our last hole remaining!

I had the Saints trading down with Oakland in the first, giving up #27 for #36 and exchange of third and fourth picks. This allows the Saints to move up in this deep draft and still get who they want with my guess and the BPA.

The following are the picks:
36. Kyle Van Noy, OLB -BYU The Saints have needed a talented OLB for years now. Van Noy is technically sound and can cover backs out of the backfield. He should still be available in this scenario.

58. Donte Moncrief, WR - Ole Miss Due to inconsistent QB play last year, Moncrief did not shine as he might have. Yet at 6'2"+ and 226lbs., he recently ran a 4.4 forty. He is sudden in his breaks and Brees will find him either short or long. Think a faster, quicker Anquan Boldin.

67. Weston Richburg, C - Colorado State Perhaps the most well rounded C available in that he is athletic, a good run and pass blocker and has shown durability and intelligence over the last 49 games straight as a starter. This may be the OL missing piece. And, he might not have to play right away if Lelito moves to Center. Richburg can also play guard and can handle bull rushers which de la Puente had difficulty with.

104. E. J. Gaines, CB - Missouri This second team all SEC pick is sound in coverage and extremely physical against the run. He has speed, 4.44, fluid hips and is a reliable open field tackler.

154. Walt Aikens, CB/S - Liberty With the Sproles pick, the Saints tap another corner. A transfer from Illinois who is as big as Keenan Lewis, Aikens showed well at the Senior Bowl. Payton loves semi-obscure corners with size and athleticism.

159. Brett Smith, QB - Wyoming If Smith is available, he would be a great fit as the understudy to Brees. Think a larger (6'2", 210 lbs.) slightly less fast version of Johnny Manziel. His statistics are impressive: last year 62.7% completion for 3,375 yards and 29 td's. Gutsy competitor and natural leader. Sound familiar??? Against Hawaii in 2013, he passed for 498 yards and ran for another 142 setting a new Mountain West record for total offense in a game. (Okay, I may have a fifth round man crush.)

195. Brent Urban, DT/DE(in a 34 defense) - Virginia. Kenyon Coleman is gone, Tom Johnson and Tyrunn Walker are unsigned, and Glenn Foster is coming off injury. Urban led all FBS teams with 9 pass breakups (tipped and batted down) in 2013. He is 6'6", 298 lbs. and runs a 4.98 with above average athleticism for his size. He has long arms and lower body power. He could be a valuable addition who slid a bit due to Virginia's poor season last year.

Texans are offering

(1) a 2015 4th or

(2) CB / S Brandon Harris (former 2nd round pick; redundant with our secondary acquisitions & does not fit our new scheme; works best in a press man or press zone scheme) or

(3) TE Owen Daniels (former Pro Bowler; perfect WCO TE; $4M cap hit; if you need a vet TE, this is your guy) or

(4) WR Keshawn Martin [has value as a return man and a slot option; really started to come into his own this year (FINALLY!). However, Texans acquired Brandin Cooks and several other KR / PR options that have made him expendable. He has 2 more years on his contract as a former 4th round pick (4-121 in 2012)]

in exchange for

5-155

PM if interested or post in our war room

Anyone else would like to get WR/Returner Jalen Saunders, Oklahoma? We need a return guy and Saunders is talented and a solid 5th rounder to me.

Selected WR Matt Hazel out of Coastal Carolina as our last pick. Large possession WR, huge catch radius, uses his body well and could add some weight without losing athleticism. Sound familiar? Laughing
