Figured we needed somewhere to talk FA since it starts next week!

So without further a due, Matt Cassel......GO!

I think Cassel makes a lot of sense for us since he won't break the bank but will also not be garbage. Not to mention he keeps us from being locked in on a QB with our first pick. Granted, I have no problem with taking a QB number one overall so long as it's Bridgewater, but even so, Cassel just makes a lot of sense for just about any scenario I can think of.

I dont think Schuab is any worse than Cassel and at least Schuab has a relationship with our WRs

1) Everyone knows Shaub has to be cut. Now will probably make him a post June 1st cut, but I'd rather cut him now and take the whole dead money hit this year. Rather than having a 7 mil dead cap hit in 2015 for a player who doesn't play in the team.

2) I'm all for Cassel, he knows that basics of BOB's system, and allows us to take BPA and take Hack in 2015

didnt Cassel get traded to the Chiefs before BOB became the offensive Coordinator in NE?

Yes, OB1 was WRs coach when Cassel went off before being traded (Josh McDaniels was still OC)

Texans fans, the Texans fans have expressed interest in Matt Cassel. I'd say the Texans will sign him. He's a good fit for them. Just go ahead and hand him a fresh Texans jersey on the 11th. Just hand a new #9 jersey and pencil him an as the new starting QB.

If we sign Matt Cassel I don't know what I would do. Sure he would be an ok bridge QB I guess, but he also is going to get around 4 million a year and because the Texans have about 11 million in cap space and a lot of other needs I will be furious if they decide to spend a third of their cap space on Matt Cassell.

Yikes! Wanted him for the Texans, but not at this price

Quote:
Packers re-signed CB Sam Shields to a four-year, $39 million contract.
The deal includes $12.5 million guaranteed and puts Shields among the top-three cornerbacks in the league in terms of average annual salary. Shields will receive a total compensation of $15 million for 2014 and is slated make $21 million through his first two seasons. It's a massive sum of money for a player that's struggled with injures each of the last two years and is a liability in run coverage. Shields will return as the No. 1 corner in a deep Packers' secondary that includes Tramon Williams, Casey Hayward, and Davon House.

Serious Thought:

Should we get rid of Arian Foster?

He carries an 8.5 million cap hit, and i think we could get more value for that kind of money somewhere else...Foster is a great RB, but i think RB is the most available position in football right now, we could probably resign tate for half that hit

If we move him, his dead money hit would be 7.5M so it would not be prudent to move Arian.
