Phillip Gaines added. We worked him out, but it hasn't been confirmed if it was a private workout or if we worked him out on the Rice campus.

Dion Bailey added. We met with him, but I can't find if it was a pre-draft visit to Cincy, or if we met with him on USC's campus.

Calvin Pryor added. He's scheduled to come in for a pre-draft visit.

Would like him but feel like it isn't a need at all.

I still feel like it is. We need a playmaker in the secondary

Yeah I agree with that. But I think it is pretty far down the need list

Great job 'DD3' keeping tabs on all this.

Perhaps when we get to the week before the draft or so, we could put all these visits into one list ?

It will be real interesting to see how many of our later picks and UDFA's will be guys we know they've visited with, and see if there is any obvious correlation. It might make our future mocks more accurate, if we reliably know they draft more guys from visits than otherwise. Not sure we've done that here much before........

Thanks LB.

What do you mean by one list? Like combining the meetings and pro days?[/quote

Yeah, like putting all the Guys into one list, by position or A-Z, so we can quickly look 'em up at draft time to see if they've met with them.

I guess we don't know who they met with at the combine though ?

I have the combine meetings at the top.

If it's something you guys would like, I could make an open thread for the Draft and have the list of meetings in the OP. Could also keep track of our picks there, listing the round and number and filling it in as we select. That way everything is laid out in one place.

Verrett added. He's scheduled to come in for a pre-draft visit sometime next week.

I have to say, looking at the pre-draft visits (that we know of), it really looks like we'll be grabbing a guy for the secondary at 24. Obviously can't put too much into it, it's far from a guarantee. Just an observation I made.

Allen Hurns added. He was brought in for a private workout. When asked about his recent workouts (with us and Houston), he said "I felt like I dominated both workouts."

that would be superb 'DD3'......

(I guess what I'm trying to pin down here, is if the Bengals end up drafting guys they have not visited with...... I appreciate like all teams, they will 'scout' hundreds of guys, it would just be neat when mocking drafts to know what % of draft picks and UDFA's they actually met with).......

Any idea why a guy with one of the best seasons in school history; a guy who 'dominated' his workouts; and who appears to 'tick all the boxes' physically; should rank as 'undrafted' by most boards ? What am I missing here ?

Really thin build and inconsistent hands. Too much of a body catcher at times. He doesn't have elite speed and is view by most as just an okay route runner (though I think that aspect of his game is being a little underrated, he does a pretty good job at getting open). Measured in at 6'1 instead of his listed 6'3 at the Combine (taking away from one of his big pluses). Also, being part of a ridiculously deep receiver class isn't doing him any favors.

With that being said, he's very physical for his size (pretty solid bocker) and good at creating separation from DBs. Shifty in the open field and plays faster than his 4.55 Combine time. I really like him in the 6th or later and think he could end up being a steal. Glad we gave him a workout.

OBJ and Terrence Fede added. Both brought in for pre-draft visits. Thoughts on Beckham at 24?

No thank you, I do not want a receiver at 24 unless it is Evans or Watkins which isnt happening
