And why not?

You also appear to love Manziel so i'm not shocked we have differing opinions here lol

I think Watkins can be great in the right system with the right players around him. If we have a QB who can extend plays I think that is where Watkins will do his best work. He can make plays on the WR screens and such but I think it will be limited in the NFL.

I don't think Watkins can go to just any team and be the #1 guy and make it work. I consider him a great play making #2 receiver, which coincidentally is just what we could use, but at #4 seems too high for me.

In other words, I think you are both right.

I think if it came down to it, I'd rather trade down, pick up more good picks and take Mike Evans than sit at #4 and take Watkins.

Love them both though. As well as so many other WRs in this class.

I never advocated the safest pick.

My first mocks had Manziel at #4 and now I think we get Clowney or trade down as QB candidates too much risk. We have so many needs and the idea of getting a playmaker and a high draft pick makes good business sense by trading down(Dennard CB and Ford DE/LB for example or Evans /Shazier). Watkins has played against the best DB's in country and looks like a sure thing without the benefit of personal interview. If he passes the interview, he is definitely a candidate at #4 and a playmaker. Wow, Gordon, Cameron, Watkins, slot, and speed RB coming out of the backfield!

That's just so other teams behind us won't trade up to get him. They now think we are not taking him at 4 the silly Billy's

With the way that F/A is going it seems likely that we are trying to minimise our major draft needs and are going to trade up for a QB, does anyone else feel this way? Would anyone be against trading up for Teddy (or bortles if thats who they want...)?

not at all. I feel we are gonna sign a Vet QB to roll with Hoyer

I'd cry tears of joy if we trade up to draft Teddy

Same here. Its just that Ray was here last year, he saw the debacle that was the QB position, why would he repeat it? Go and get the #1 guy i say. Don't try to be too cute like holmgren or indecisive like Lombardi. Just get Teddy.
