I hope we take a look at Delmas to add depth to our secondary. Ignoring the fact 3 of our starting DBs are set to be free agents, we have no speed back there which Delmas could provide. We don't need him to be a starter and I wouldn't expect much out of him but for a cheap price, I think it would be a solid pickup if nothing more than as a relatively reliable backup.

Because the Lions can't manage a salary cap and needed the room.

When 40 percent of your cap is dedicated to 3 players you know you have a problem.

That's why rookie scale was finally fixed. They will be fine. Delmas nothing special.

Do you guys already have his replacement on board, or do you expect Detroit to look through FA/Draft to replace him?

Quin better suited to play FS so hopefully they slide him over. Find SS via FA or draft

sounds like a lot of people would like their team to have more 15 yard penalties with all the love delmas is getting.

Helps to know facts. As much as I hate him he did not have a lot of 15 yard penalties.

3 total penalties in 2013-- all of 15 yard
1 penalty in 2012 defensive holding 5 yards
1 in 2011-- defensive holding 5 yards
3 in 2010-- 2 over 10 yard variety
5 in 2009-- 2 of the 15 yard variety

So in 5 seasons he has 5 total 15 yard penalties...avg of 1 per year

burflict alone had 6 unnecessary roughness, 2 personal fouls and a 15 yard face mask THIS year

2 quality players. I figure they'll get signed to new teams rather quickly.

Intrigued because FS is a need for Ravens and cut players don't hurt comp pick formula. Got to be pretty cheap though.

He was overpaid and overrated. Throw in his injury history and he probably won't be anyone's answer at safety.

Injuries were soooo annoying.....and the fact he never ever practiced so he never got better and made same mistakes and regressed since coming into the league. He was my favorite his rookie year, but kind of glad he is gone and we can hopefully take a look at Ward or Byrd and pay them his contract with a some more. He's worth maybe 1.5-2 million a year. But will only last another year or two. He has horrible knees.

where do you get your numbers?

but its a matter of risk verse rewards. i would take the penalties for a player like burfict then less penalties for a player like delmas. he doesnt make up for the penalties he does commit.

You Lion fans might not like him but he might be better than the guy we had starting for us in 2014. Confused

Huh!! Short of his injury history dude was playing at a high level. I have not watched him last year but he was balling early.

Delmas is good enough to start in this league for some team. He's not good enough to make 6 million a year.
