Chudzinski and coach Chuck Pagano have a history together; they both worked on the same staff at the University of Miami in the late 1990s and then with the Browns in 2004. Chudzinski has a bright offensive mind, and this could be a way of putting OC Pep Hamilton on notice.

In his first year in Carolina (2011), the Panthers offense ranked 5th in scoring with 25.4 PPG, in 2012 they fell to 18th with 22.3 PPG. After he left the Panthers remained 18th with 22.6 PPG in 2013.

In 2011, Williams and Stewart averaged 5.4 YPC each, in 2012 Williams averaged 4.3 and Stewart averaged 3.6

In Cleveland last year the offense ranked 27th with 19.2 PPG and TRich had the fourth most rushing attempts on the team and he was traded after week 2

Willis MaGahee 138 attempts 2.7 ypc
Chris Ogbonnoya 49 attempts 4.9 ypc
Edwin Baker 43 attempts 4.0 yoc
Trent Richardson 31 attempts 3.4 ypc

Some people are reading into this hire as a threat to Pep's job but really what would Chud do that Pep hasn't already done?

I love how Grigson and Pagano have been pushing the power run game since they came in but haven't really committed to it. Now they want to abandon it? idiots Laughing

anyway you want to look at it, I cant see it as a bad move to bring in a guy who was 1 of the top OC's a couple years ago. Earned a HC gig, did pretty well, and got fired by new regime.?

I love the move personally

This is a good move. He's a proven NFL offensive mind, who will only help Pep Hamilton game plan each week. He's also a big fan of Richardson, and can only help there. The other, free agent side of the coin, is that the Browns have some solid, Pro Bowl caliber players about to hit free agency, two of whom (Safety TJ Ward and Center Alex Mack) are on record as saying they loved playing for Chudzinski. Those are two positions the Colts will likely look to bolster in free agency.

saw this in comment area of ESPN article.

I think it is a great point, and I hope he is right.

I guess Ward would mean Bethea is gone, but I would love Mack.

Seems like a good hire. Guy did a decent job in Cleveland given what he had to work with.

He was a popular choice for UM so I have faith that he'll do a good job. If anything, he might help Pep put some consistency in the gameplan.
