Gentlemen (I am not sure if there are any ladies on these boards, but if there are, you can just leave now unless you can make us all a sandwich), welcome to FFMD 2014. Again, I have been tasked with helping waste all our time by being the GM of the Bengals. As with any year, if you want to help, just say so. We are a decision by committee forum, no one will act without consulting the group first.

Our first line of business, is to decide what our strategy is going to be. Are we going to try and play this out like the Bengals would in real life, do we throw everything out the window and do this madden style, or is there a different way you wanna go?

My personal preference is to do it realistically as possible. Focusing on the draft in my opinion is the teams mindset and should be ours as well. We have many posters in this forum that have a lot of insight on prospects, and all of you are important in helping us narrow down our selections.

Most of all though, lets have fun, be respectful of others thoughts and posts, and most importantly, LETS WIN THIS THING! London will be buying steaks for everyone

I talked to Cwood, its up to you if you want to be GM or AGM. We will just have to delete this thread so you can start up your own

Looking at the schedule Feb 10 is the cutover date from real life to the Mock. Feb 11 is when we can start tendering/tagging our exclusive rights, restricted, and unrestricted free agents. Feb 15 is when we can make offers to other team's restricted free agents. Feb 18 is when Tier 1 free agents are open to offers. Shark tank opens Feb 24 and draft begins Feb 28.

We can make trades at any time.

Our restricted free agents Hawkins, Rey, and Sanzenbacher entered the league as undrafted rookies. So an original round tender (1.33 mil) is pointless. I don't think any of them are worth the 2.02 mil 2nd round tender, though we should offer them the vet minimum at least.

AGM is ok since the thread is already open. I should be available most of the time through the end of the draft. My main interest is being able to enter bids for free agents and negotiate with other teams for trades. Of course things should be done as much as possible by consensus.

that's fine by me. We need to decide off the bat if we are gonna make this realistic or a madden type of thing. we usually do realistic.

I'm in as a scout if we play it realistically. I have no interest if we go all-madden.

Happy to buy steaks with all the trimmins, and bottomless beers for everyone comin' over for the 'European Scouting Meeting' in London next Tuesday.........

Seriously, I'd love to get involved, but the time difference is a problem, so I'll just have to watch you guys do magic from over here...........

I guess I'll just do Scouting. I really don't want to have to do something else, because I feel I won't be on here enough once the time comes, and I don't know all the rules that well yet.

Rules aren't that hard, they spell them out.
