New York Football Giants War Room

Vital Threads
FFMD ’14 Rules & Schedule Thread

Talent Agency Thread

Draft Thread

FFMD ’14 General Discussion Threads:

Volume 1

Roles
General Manager -Gmen4ev- Will make all final decisions, and is in control of everything within the team. However, my opinion is weighed equally amongst the staff, just as any other member, and it's also my job to make sure that everyone's opinion is valued and taken into account before making any decision. Every member's opinions will weigh on the direction that the team is taken

Assistant General Manager -FracDaddy- The second in command, who assists in the al areas of the team. He will explore trade options around the league and all trade offers are directed through him to then announce in the war room for discussion. If the GM is unavailable the Assistant GM is able to make draft picks and post UFA bids. Only the GM and Assistant GM have this ability. Becomes the active GM in the absence of the nominated GM.

Head Coach -bballbkd1001- Has a key part in all decisions, but his focus is mainly on the team itself, rather than looking for trade options, etc… The draft board and player targets should be of importance to him as adding players he views as a fit for his system is critical.

Capologist -ny92jefferis- Is in charge of maintaining and keeping tabs of the salary information of the team. At all times the team must maintain a budget in regards to the annual revenue the team brings in. The responsibility for correct figures will lie in his hands and an excel spreadsheet for constant updating is usually helpful. A 53 man roster must be maintained as well.

Director of College Scouting - Helps decide needs and works with the national and positional scouts to develop a big board for the draft.

President of Player Personnel - Is responsible for evaluating the team needs (along with the Head Coach), and in developing a Free Agent target list to fill those needs.

Director of Media Relations - Will report to the writers with feedback and information relative to the news of what is happening with the organization.

National Scout - Will evaluate draftable players, across all positions, in order to find players that are both talented and fit the team's scheme.

Positional Scout - Is responsible for scouting specific positional groups and finding players that are both talented and fit the team's scheme. Some of these may be overlap (e.g. LB/LEO KRUGER)

We are allowed 1 resign plus 1 Franchise of a UFA before he goes to UFA. This hurts us with so many UFAs. Considering he is the most expensive, do we go with #8 on NY92J's Google Doc? Using this from a mock I did.

5 years, $32.75 million, $20 million guaranteed

Year 1- Base- $1.5m- SB- $4m- Total Cap Hit- $5.5m
Year 2- Base- $2.75m- SB- $4m- Total Cap Hit- $6.75m
Year 3- Base- $2.75m- SB- $4m- Total Cap Hit- $6.75m
Year 4- Base- $2.75m- SB- $4m- Total Cap Hit- $6.75m
Year 5- Base- $3m- SB- $4m- Total Cap Hit- $7m

Comparison- Barry Cofield- 6yrs, $36m, $12.5m guaranteed

the two main signings we should make is 3 and 8... 8 we could possibly use the tag on.... 3 would be a cheap signing. or we could try signing him via free agency but 8 is definite!

and he might demand more towards the franchise tag price range
