Attempting to trade up into bottom of 4th round.

I have not really advocated for a player that other staff members had not already mentioned to me.

But THIS player has the tools to be something special. I firmly believe another team is targeting him and I do not want to wait to acquire him (or miss out on selecting him).

PM for the player and an explanation.

Also, we are pretty set at every position (except possibly a future ILB Wink ) and have the luxury of taking a few chances during this part of the draft.

I PM'd everyone who had sent in a Big Board or list with a composite list.

I will be driving to work (takes about an hour). So I will need to put the pick in as soon as arrive at work.

Please get your votes in.

I say by preference
Bart
Lenny
Homer

You've done such a good job filling holes that there's no obvious need anymore. Makes it hard to pick for me. I guess I would go with Moe, Bart or Flanders in that order.

We have a suggestion for pick 150.

Keshawn Martin and 2015 5th round for 150.

Sorry I didn't get you my vote. St. Patty's Day got a little intense lol. Thomas would have been my second choice personally but I have no problem with the pick Smile I do think we should pull the trigger on the trade with the eagles and snag Moe if he is still there though.

With the 161st pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select NT Beau Allen, Wisconsin

We're getting the band (or Badgers) back together! Beau is a hoss in the middle, He can push the pocket and occupy multiple blockers. He will allow us to rotate Jones in the middle or move him out to DE to learn from Richard Seymour. Welcome to Houston, Beau!

Okay, fellas & gals... we moved TJ Yates for 7-215 from Dallas. I didn't think anyone would be opposed to that and we initially needed the 7th for a deal with Washington (see below).

Also, we are looking at the following trade being approved by the Dolphins (after Washington backed out of a similar deal)
The Houston Texans trade
WR Keshawn Martin & TE Owen Daniels

to the Miami Dolphins for
7-211,
S Don Jones (ST contributor & possible deep safety), &
a 2015 5th round pick

First, want to make sure there are no major objections. Obviously, IRL we cut OD. Here we are at least getting something of value in return. Also, Keshawn has been replaced by Cooks as a slot WR + we picked up other players who can serve as returners. Moreover, it frees up $4.5M or so in cap space toward JJ's extension.

Second, if the trade goes through, we will have selections 7-211 & 7-215. I have some remaining big boards / player lists that were submitted earlier. This is your chance to PM or post players we should be focused on before UDFA.

7-211 & 7-215 are almost on the clock!

With pick 211 of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, Boston College

KPL will play a rover position for us initially - especially in nickel or passing situations. Our goal is to help him increase his weight such that he is able to become a 3-down linebacker for us. In this new pass happy NFL, KPL will be a valuable contributor with his ability to match up with RBs, TEs, and slot WRs.

Welcome to Houston, Kevin!

^^ good choice. I don't know why but I thought he was already picked. I know my list is a little outdated with some of the recent 7th round picks but I hope we have some similar guys.

With pick 215 of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select T Justin Britt, Missouri

Justin gives us some options along our offensive line. He can be a devastating run blocker who also possesses an excellent kick slide to aid him in pass protection. He has the ability to play tackle or guard.

We're excited to let our O-line coach get a crack at molding this young talent. Welcome to Houston, Justin!

OK.. now we need to focus on UDFA. If you have a list, please PM me with a ranking.

Rules for UDFA can be found here: http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=544969

I already have a list from Biggio & have one guy in mind from Hannibal, but would love to hear from everyone else.

The list of drafted players can be found here: http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=541021&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Also, we need to make cuts to open room to sign UDFA. On the chopping block unless there is a last minute objection:
RB Ray Graham
FB Toben Opurum
G / C Cody White
T Derek Newton
DE Tim Jamison
CB Brice McCain
S Shiloh Keo

Just wanted to say that you guys did a great job this year. I've been super busy and couldn't participate, but that draft looks awesome.
