The Dallas Cowboys release the following:

I did miss this transaction. Iíve released Dominguez from your roster and since Olson isnít showing up on your roster, the formulas arenít including him so there is no change to the cap there but the RD release puts you at ($30,252) in the red.

With trades the team you are trading with takes the length of the contract to include all base salary, roster bonuses, Incentives and workout bonuses; making the original contract holder of the player liable for all signing bonus and option bonus which is escalated to the current year.

Just a suggestion, Kyle Orton is taking up cap space with that deal he is carrying.

Releasing him would put your available cap at $3,219,748 in the positive.

As the only one to vote no on trading Claiborne, I blame all of you. Laughing

If we cut Orton and Durant now, would we still be able to get the money for a FA + picks after the draft? Who would we need to cut more?

I was running off OTC numbers and they projected only a slight cap hit by trading Claiborne.

By trading him we only took a slight hit (I think something like $600,000) but if we cut him it was going to be a $4MM hit.

We should be at $5MM under the cap before June 1sting Austin and Orton.

The difference is that OTC is running at the accurate cap number to where FFMD is not. There is a 6 million gap between FFMD and the NFL.

Right, but I was using that $127MM number and adding/subtracting using the calculator when it came to trading/cutting/restructuring players.

Is the dead money taken into account on the cap? If that's the case, I had no clue. It didn't factor in when I was running numbers using their calculator.

Meh, I think it is fine.

Cut Durant now. Hold off on Orton. If we see someone we like and can bid on and win - cut Orton now instead of June 1st him.

Also I am all in favor of June 1st Austin right now. Let him find his home. I hold no ill will. And we need his money for draft picks, anyways.

ATTENTION!

Cutting L.P. Ladouceur would take us out of the red.

That is all.

I agree with this plan, but can we use the Orton/Durant money in FA while still having enough to sign picks by june 1st Austin? How much do we have to FA by cutting Orton/Durant?

I hope you are entered into a kicking contest for $1,000,000 and LP is your snapper!

I say release Orton. At least gives us a little more $ to play with in FA.
