2014 FFMD Indianapolis Colts War Room

Well folks, the season's officially over, which means it's time for the best part of the Football's Future year: FFMD. Let me introduce myself:

Ahh, if only I had that head of hair. I envy you Grigs.

But first and foremost, here's the important stuff. Know the rules and know the schedule.

FFMD Quick Links

FFMD Rules and Schedule

FFMD Talent Agency

FFMD Draft Threat

Current FFMD General Discussion Threat[/url]

I've been involved in several of these over the years, and they almost always turn out fun. But we need participation to really enjoy it. The more people we have, the more feedback we get and the better the positions will be. So without further ado.

The Front Office of the Indianapolis Colts.

General Manager - Yours Truly. I'll be the one "making" the decisions officially, but everything we do will be done as a group. I'll deal with the media (They're my people. I know how to work 'em)

Assistant General Manager - ColtsFan40. My Number 2. Will make decisions if GM is unavailable.

Capologist - wayne87reggie

Head Coach - Stallyns Will be heavily involved in all decisions. Will help identify weak spots on the team, where we need starters, depth, replacements etc.

Director of College Scouting - Vacant - Will help create a Big Board and plan for the Draft.

Director of Pro Personnel- Vacant - Main duty will be to identify potential FAs, and work hand-in-hand with Capologist to determine who we can sign and how much we can spend.

Positional Scouts - if we get more participation, we can add scouts and/or assistant positions.

To apply for a position, simply post in this forum what position you want. If we don't get enough volunteers, people can take on additional roles if they would like.

I'm still debating whether or not to use a code this year. We've used them in the past, and while the argument is there to use them, I feel like it excludes a lot of people from the discussions. Not using a code has worked just fine for several other teams in the past. I will leave that up to you guys. Just let me know.

Congrats bro!

I've got to say, I prefer Head Coach. Just enough responsibility for me. But seeing as I think I've been HC the past few times if someone else wants to try it I'll take another position.

I like the idea of the code, but I feel like the problem arose when it came time to make a decision some of the people with the code weren't around and some of the people who were around weren't privy to it

Whomever we elect to send out PMs should scour the thread for all the people who sign up and maybe even post something in their sig letting people know that if they aren't part of another team's war room that they should PM him(her) to get access to the code. Of course that person should also keep track of the real time draft to make keep the code updated as best as possible.

How much time do you think you'll be able to give FFMD? I don't wanna give you say, AGM if that's gonna put you in some sort of a time constraint. I understand we all can't be on here super often.

I'll be around but I can't commit to a position and the time it would take.

Done

Well, as we fill some of the other positions, We should probably start talking about what we want to do as a team:

1. List of our current team needs.
2. Priority Free Agents (Can only re-sign 1 UFA and 1 Franchise Tag)
3. Potential FA targets

Tentatively, Vontae Davis is in the 3rd tier of the Talent Agency and is the only Colt the agency. The rest break down like so:

Tier 1 wrote:
TE Jimmy Graham
DE Greg Hardy
OT Eugene Monroe
S Jarius Bryd
OLB Brian Orakpo
CB Alterraun Verner
DT Randy Starks
WR Eric Decker

Tier 2 wrote:
S TJ Ward
CB Brent Grimes
C Alex Mack
DT Lamaar Houston
WR Golden Tate
DE Michael Johnson
DT Henry Melton
OT Jared Veldheer

Tier 3 wrote:
CB Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie
DE Michael Bennett
CB Vontae Davis
DT Jason Hatcher
OT Anthony Collins
WR Hakeem Nicks
TE Dennis Pitta
OT Branden Albert

Tier 4 wrote:
OLB Jason Worilds
CB Aqib Talib
DE Arthur Jones
RB Knowshon Moreno
LB Brandon Spikes
OT Jordan Gross
DT Paul Soliai

Tier 5 wrote:
CB Sam Shields
DE Jared Allen
WR Jeremy Maclin
S Donte Whitner
CB Captain Munnerlyn
OG Geoff Schwartz

4. Extension (Allowed 1 extension)
5. Trade Block - Who do you think sits on our current Trade block?

We don't have many draft picks, so if we are going to address specific needs, especially if we're trying to replace starters, we're going to need to do it mostly via Free Agency.

Completely understandable. Whatever input you can give will still be a big part of this though. Mind if I just put you down as one of the positional scouts so it looks "official"?

Does that mean we can't extend/franchise Vontae or is that free agent list tentative?

I would prefer tagging Davis, offering McAfee a deal 4-5 years $3.5/4 mill per year and targeting either Alex Mack or Paul Solai in free agency
