So I played around with a mock draft simulator(cuz theyre so much fun)
and came up with a few different scenarios picking different positions.
It became pretty obvious to me that this is a pretty defense heavy draft
in terms of depth, especially towards later rounds.

I know its early in the process, the rankings are completely off
and there is no trades, but its interesting to see who is available when.

Option #1...assume we resigned Griffen, signed CB Verner, DT Sims
8-QB DEREK CARR FRESNO STATE
40-S LAMARCUS JOYNER FLORIDA STATE
72-ILB SHAYNE SKOV STANFORD
96-DE DEMARCUS LAWRENCE BOISE STATE
104-DT EGO FERGUSON LSU
136-CB KEITH MCGILL UTAH
168-RB DE’ANTHONY THOMAS OREGON
200-G TRAI TURNER LSU

Option#2...assume we resigned Griffen, signed G Slauson, CB Brown
8-QB TEDDY BRIDGEWATER LOUISVILLE
40-S CALVIN PRYOR LOUISVILLE
72-ILB SHAYNE SKOV STANFORD
96-DT DAQUAN JONES PENN STATE
104-WR MARTAVIS BRYANT CLEMSON
136-DE KAREEM MARTIN NORTH CAROLINA
168-RB DE’ANTHONY THOMAS OREGON
200-CB BENE BENWIKERE SAN JOSE STATE

Option#3..assume we lose Griffen..sign CB Grimes, DT Joseph, S Wright
8-WR SAMMY WATKINS CLEMSON
40-DE TRENT MURPHY STANFORD
72-ILB CHRISTIAN JONES FLORIDA STATE
96-QB JIMMY GAROPPOLO EASTERN ILLINOIS
104-C/G BRYAN STORK FLORIDA STATE
136-CB ROSS COCKRELL DUKE
168-DT RYAN CARRETHERS ARKANSAS STATE
200-DE WILL CLARKE WVU

Option#4..assume we lose Griffen..sign CB Davis, G Asamoah, S Jenkins
8-DE KONY EALY MISSOURI
40-DT RA’SHEDE HAGEMAN MINNESOTA
72-QB ZACH METTENBERGER LSU
96-WR DONTE MONCRIEF OLE MISS
104-ILB YAWIN SMALLWOOD UCONN

Is Bridgewater really the best fit for our system?

I like 3. It might be my draft crush on Sammy Watkins though and FA is solid also.

Option 2 and Option 1 are pretty close. I think Joyner and Pryor are going to be immediate impact players for whichever teams pick them.

Option 3 and 4 are close to each other but below the first two due to not acquiring a franchise QB (IMO of course). But a lot of those players drafted are going to be excellent as well.

I believe the best QB in the draft can be molded to fit any offensive system. Or at least, have the system molded around his strengths.
