I have said all season long that BB deserved the award, and I would still probably give him my vote. However Ron Rivera displayed the ability to be humble, and pull a 180 on his strategy, which is something that not many head coaches have the ability to do. It paid dividends, and for that I do think that he is deserving of this award.

rename the damned award. as is, no reason BB shouldn't win every year.

No one has mentioned wither of the Superbowl coaches yet. Obviously I have a bias but I thought the guy that led the team and staff to the most points all time deserved it.

I don't understand the love for Reid, he was good, but wasn't great.

Anyway congrats Riverboat.

BB has stuck up so many middle fingers to the NFL. The COTY award is one of the few ways the NFL can give one back.

How dare some of you Rivera supporters defend how he could possibly deserve this award over the God Belichick!!!

Its not like Rivera took a 7-9 team to 12-4, division champs over a tough Saints team, and the #2 seed... pssh... Bill won the same amount of games as last year and won a division title over the self-destructive Dolphins... now that is impressive.

All Bill has is a Hall of Fame Quarterback and Amendola, Edelman, Gronkowski.... Rivera had sooooo much more like Cam Newton, and.... Steve Smith...and?... oh yeah a defense he made much improved. Must've happened magically.

How dare you! You must run to your closest Patriot Temple and say 10 Hail Brady's for your blasphemy.

It seems as though the voters went with the most improved coach award. Not that RR didn't deserve it but there seemed to be a log jam of coaches who could've won for different reasons. Lets hope RR keeps it up

I say we just burn him at the stake! There is no forgiveness to be had for actions such as his!

That might be one of the funniest posts I've ever read on these forums!

And agree, trying to say Brady had less competent weapons than Newton is ridiculous. I understand that the Patriots weren't the stacked team as they have been on the past, but what Rivera did for the Panthers was much more impressive than what BB did this year--bar none.

I don't have a problem with Ron winning since he won 11/12 games to get a 2 seed.

You know how it works. If "your guy" doesnt win, then clearly whoever did win couldnt have possibly, in any way, deserved to win.
