Quote:
Former Seahawks LT Walter Jones was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Widely considered one of the greatest left tackles in league history, Jones was inducted on his first year of eligibility. A nine-time Pro Bowler, he spent his entire career with the Seahawks, where he reportedly allowed just 23 sacks over his 13 seasons. Jones joins Michael Strahan, Derrick Brooks, Andre Reed, and Aeneas Williams as confirmed members of the 2014 Hall of Fame class.

Some nice selections here. Shame Will Shields still isn't in though.

Still don't think Strahan is a Hall of Famer. Miffed about Jerome not making it but glad to see Aeneas Williams finally made it...

It's going to suck to see all the Seahawks "ans get a boost before the Super Bowl when Jones comes out. I hope they don't embarrass the fanbase the way that Saints "fans' did for Ricky back in '09.

Glad to see Williams get in, tremendous player who languished on bad teams for most of his career.

Brooks, Jones and Strahan are no brainers. Somewhat surprised to see Reed get in over Harrison.

I thought Humphrey and Guy were pretty poor nominees from the Senior Committee, but I'm not surprised to see them get in.

Maybe some year soon Bettis will get the nod. Hope he doesn't wait as long as Dirt Dawson, who had a much more conclusive case for enshrinement than Jerome does.

Not sure how you could say Strahan doesn't deserve it but Bettis does...but ok.

I don't get it. Were we insufferable after Ogden made it last year?

Like a couple of others have said, very happy that Williams got in. He is one of the most vastly underrated defensive players I have seen. He was an incredible player and absolutely deserved this.

Jones was clearly a no brainer. I'm sort of meh on Reed...he straddles that line of hall of very good to me; I may have liked Brown and Harrison better. I think they are definitely trying to clear out that logjam at wide receiver though. Brooks was easily a deserving guy, and Ray Guy getting in from the seniors is fantastic. I still don't know that Strahan is more deserving than Haley though; I just feel like Haley was the more disruptive force, so I may have preferred him. I think he may have simply been the superior player.

Ravens fans are always insufferable. Wink

No, because Ravens fans actually are... fans of their team and the players. So when Ogden came on it was an AWESOME moment despite my disdain for him and the Ravens. When Ricky came out in '09 Saints fans in attendance didn't even cheer... Like they didn't know who he was.

I thought Harrison should get in over Reed.
