He was my draft crush last year. I was hoping the 9ers would trade up to get him. They got Eric Reid instead who was also pretty good. Congrats to sheldon.

Well deserved but I don't understand why they leak this before the show. Kind of disappointed that I already know the winner.

Well deserved! I thought Kiko Alonso was going to win because he had the readily apparent numbers as a LB (and he admittedly had a great rookie season). Glad to see some people in the media actually watch the games too.

Because the show is unneccesary and just more ego stroking from Goodell.

I'm surprised it was so close, I know Kiko had a great year but i expected Sheldon to run away with it

I am surprised, I thought they would go with the stats. I'm happy he won it after Warren Sapp opened his mouth talking trash about Richardson for no other reason than some media members comparing him to Sapp.

I don't think the show is so bad. Thought they did a good job the last couple of years.

I think a lot of us felt that way in the niners forum. There was talk (whether or not there was any validity to it I don't know) that the 49ers and Jets were talking trade for that pick when the Jets were on the clock. I think a lot of us were positive if we had made the swap, we would have selected Richardson. Apparently we had quite the pre-draft crush on him not just as a forum, but as a team lol.

In the end, I think it turned out well for both teams. Congrats to Richardson though; he had a fantastic season and he and Wilkerson are going to be a beastly combination for years.

Todd Mcshay on draft night: “The Sheldon Richardson pick is a real head-scratcher. It’s a complete non-scheme fit & Jets have so many other needs”

Good call.

About half the people on this forum were saying the same thing though. The same was said about Ryan Kerrigan also when he was drafted into a 3-4 defense.
