Not sure how Ben Tate's relationship with Shanny Jr. was, but I would think that Tate is a lock to go to CLE now.

Shanahan wasn't even coaching in Houston when Tate was drafted

Get ready for a lot of simplistic 2-man routes. Josh Gordon will be a first round pick in fantasy with all those targets he's going to see. Hopefully you can get a strong running back to take some of the pressure off Kyle's lack of creative passing play calls.

Congrats. Kyle is a very pass-happy coach, and Gordon would be giddy about that.

Maybe that was because he had a lack of good receivers in Washington

Pierre Garcon is a boss, so we had one very good receiver and a bunch of scrubs after.

Garcon and Reed?

I'm not saying he was horrible, he's a bright young mind, but his strength is definitely opening up the passing game with a strong running game. When he doesn't have that, his routes aren't creative enough to keep teams guessing.

If you guys don't take a QB in the first round, potential Kirk Cousins trade?

I don't know if it lacked creativity, but the passing game didn't seemed pretty simple at times. However, my guess is that this had to do with working with RGIII--that is, not giving him too much and gradually adding more to his plate. In RGIII's first season, I thought the Shanahan's did a masterful job of handling RGIII.

But here's the thing: who deserves the most credit for that? If Kyle can get the Browns to execute the zone blocking running game as well the Redskins, then I think this is a really good pick up. (I really loved Washington's running game, and I loved watching Alfred Morris slip through the creases.)

What concerns me, though, is that Cleveland seemed to not want Shanahan at first, but then they eventually took him. It doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the organization.

Says who? And how are they privvy to the info? (yep I said privvy-sp)

I heard a local guy here saying he doesn't know where that came from and that he heard it went well.

I love this hiring, BTW.

Whoops.

But still he's a good ZBS runner and CLE could use an upgrade at RB so I can see the fit. I take back my earlier post.

That's a possibility, but I want a QB in the 1st.

I'd rather see what Kirk Cousins can do in DC.

Griffin in Cleveland though. That'd be pretty cool.
