One thing I dont understand is you already didnt run the ball enough...you have a talented RB. Then you go out and hire a pass happy OC?

It was more taking away power from Callahan and giving it to someone Garrett trusts. Scott and Jason coached together in Miami under Saban. Given that Garrett is on the last year (and frankly last leg) of his contract, if a change was going to happen it was going to be to someone he knows and trusts.

Thats fine and all....just dont like the idea of that offense having to throw the ball more.

Early guess is we will probably have around the same pass. run. Ratio. I care a lot more about situations when this happens than a brightline test of numbers.

I forget the number but the difference between the amount of pass plays from the Lions and Cowboys this past year was pretty substantial. He is one of those OCs that as an opposing fan you thank because the run was working and all the sudden they just stop.

*edit* found it

Ed Werder ‏@Edwerderespn 5h
Tony Romo attempted 99 fewer regular-season passes than Matthew Stafford with Scott Linehan calling plays

What an odd situation. I don't think I can recall any time where both the offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator were replaced, but stayed with the team with a reduced role. Also... I don't think I recall a time where both coordinators were replaced without the head coach also being replaced.

Seems like there is some dysfunction in Dallas. Espessially with the Cowboys blocking the Browns from interviewing Callahan.

Some is an understatement. If this were the NBA, I'd accuse the Cowboys of trying to tank by hiring so many former head coaches and changing so many responsibilities that even the players have no clue who to listen to. Maybe the muddiest coaching situation I've ever seen in my short quarter century.

Seems awkward

Fred Pagac was our DC then got demoted back to LBs coach. I'm guessing some coaches would rather just be demoted than try to go to another team, especially if they're not sure they can land an NFL job.
