I like this hire, i think they will try and incorporate Rice more in the rec. game(not calling it dink and dunk, but Rice does well in space)

Yeah I think Rice will be used as more of a featured receiver now as opposed to the safety valve role that Flacco needed when Cameron's all-deep routes were ineffective.

2013 Jamaal Charles part deaux?

Well... assuming Rice cuts bulk and gets back to his former self. As it stands however, Rice isn't as athletic as he was at 24... by far. His body has fallen off the past two seasons due to weight.

Whether his body is done... or if he just needs to lose some weight/change his body to make his style of running more effective for him in his older age (in terms of usage, not years). It'll be interesting to see if it's the former or latter scenario that is true.

Flacco should excel in Kubiak's system.

Kubiak should do wonders for Flacco's career after doing the same with Schaub.

Oh wait....

Schaub was a pretty solid QB from 2008-2012. He was more statistically productive than he should have been during that time, that's for sure.

Yep. He most definitely elevated the play of Schaub compared to his skillset. Flacco's skillset is better than Schaubs and if Kubiak can elevate Flacco by a similar amount, he will be pretty darn effective.

Eugene Monroe isn't exactly a good scheme fit for Kubiak's system on the o-line though. I wonder how they'll go about dealing with him after the pick investment.

My guess would be to keep him there for now, sign him long-term but structure it in a way that it'd be a manageable cap hit if we move on in 2-3 years.

I think we need to focus on securing C and RT before we worry about whether Monroe is a great fit or not. He's about as good as we're going to get at LT at this point.

Physically Flacco has a better skillset. Beyond that, I dont know.

And Andre Johnson made Schaub look better than Kubiak ever did.

Marshal Yanda probably isn't an ideal fit for his scheme either but I have no doubt he'll be back and with the team in the foreseeable future. Like Flaccomania said Monroe is probably as good as the Ravens are going to get at left tackle and I think he would work well enough in Kubiak's scheme for it not to be a problem. Athleticism is a big key and Monroe doesn't struggle with that.

Not defensive at all. It's just that if you're going to criticize him, at least have a legit criticism.

Great to see Kubiak get another job, guy deserves to have a position with a NFL team.

I think he was referring to the fact that the general criticism of Flacco this season is that he went for the deep ball too often, and didn't check it down enough. Your criticism indeed would be valid if it were 3 years ago. But it is not.
