They were talking about this on Sirius today about the entire NFL, so it got me thinking about our division. We all know the NFC Best (aka West) has a ton of talented players on the defensive side of the ball...

If you could do away with one player on the defensive side of the ball from any team in our division (excluding your own team) who would it be and why? Just curious to see how much of a consensus there will/won't be...

You can vote for any active players. I didn't make a poll because I didn't want to exclude anyone. Post yours below and I'll tally them in a week or so...

UPDATE

After asking this in all the NFC West threads I have tallied the results. Here they are for each team forum...

Defensive, guys.

Sherman's mouth and body language. The NFL is better with his talent on the field, but could he just shut up...

I agree with this. Yep, even the Russell part. I don't hate who he is, but I hate how good he is. Sherman on the other hand is exactly the kind of loud-mouthed, arrogant, trash-talking, likely-ped-enhanced, jerk of a guy that I just hate. What he did after that last game was so despicable to me I'm not sure what it would take for me to ever think better of him. Nothing would please me more than for Manning to complete passes over him all day long. Please, let that happen.

Not even the best DE on his team anymore. Good solid player though.

To answer this question, I'd say Calias Campbell.

For the future health of Vernon Davis, I'd say Chancellor Laughing

As an honest answer, I'd probably go with Earl Thomas. I know Sherman is annoying, and I know that he may be the best cornerback in the league, but there's something about Earl Thomas that I feel like he's the one who makes that defensive secondary so formidable.

Honorable mention would probably go to Calais Campbell and Robert Quinn, who may manage to be even better next year (scary thought)

If this was a few years ago, maybe Darnell Dockett?

No way would I want Sherman out of the West….we have some revenge coming for him.

My vote would go to that little punk Mathieu or however you spell it.
