This thread is for draft picks only! Please take any discussion of picks to the appropriate (“FFMD Discussion”) thread.

Do not use the cap numbers found in this thread, instead use those found on the spreadsheet located here.

***You are not allowed to trade a draft pick once you select a player. You cannot trade the rights to a player. You can trade a pick to another team and they can make the selection, but you are not allowed to pick a player and then make the trade later. Besides Eli Manning and John Elway rights to players are never traded so we do not want encourage this. Trading is allowed but not after your select a player.

The Draft will begin March 9th at 8 AM EST (Note: ALL draft times are Eastern Standard Time). If you miss your deadline, the next team is allowed to jump in and make their pick if they are read. Round 1 will be 1.5 hours per time slots, and rounds 2-5 will be one hour time slots.

The Draft will continue on the timeline which is stated below. If a team makes a pick 5 minutes into that time slot, the next team can make their pick but the team does not officially go on the clock until their official time. The next team’s time slot ends when it officially says it ends.

ALL TIMES ARE EASTERN!!!

From here on, the draft pick can be made by only the General Manager or Assistant General Manger unless approved by titans0021 or CWood21. If the GM or AGM is present, they SHOULD be the one’s making the pick. If it’s someone other than the GM or AGM, the mods will go through the War Room to make sure there was some sort of consensus. The mods reserve the right to void the pick if we don’t feel there has been an agreement and the pick was not delivered by the GM or AGM. As always, we also have the right to void if made by the GM or AGM without the wishes of the War Room.

GM’s, please post staff members on the front page of your war room. Also, GM’s may PM titans0021 with names of those approved to make picks in the absence of the GM and AGM so long as it does not go against the wishes of the War Room. Be explicit with the names of the posters.

Example:
Kansas City picks from 10am-11:30am. They make their pick at 10:30am. Jacksonville would then have from 10:30am until 1:00pm, as 1pm is the official time their time slot ends.

You must have the cap space available to make your pick. You will be required to list your cap space underneath your pick when you select your player.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The draft will begin Sunday, March 9. This gives people time to hopefully finish up most of the Shark Tank and doesn't start the draft on a Saturday, which can lead to trouble in my experiences. I will unlock the draft thread shortly and the Texans can make their pick whenever they'd like.

Alright guys

In order to help titan out with the draft, I’m adding another step to the process of drafting a player.

Titan isn’t 100% sure how much he’ll be able to help out due to family events and I’ve talked to dhunt as well about his availability, and he isn’t sure how much he’ll be able to help out either due to time constraints. So to make things run as smooth as we can, I’ve added another step in the draft process that has already been posted by titan. You will need to comply with all the rules as stated in his initial draft thread.

Within THIS LINK (FFMD DRAFT BOARD) you’ll find a draft board containing roughly 1000 draft prospects, you’ll also see a draft order and team by team rookie pool. The last two are protected (hopefully) and the draft board is partially protected allowing access to make your own selection.

How it works is under the “Manual Entry” column of the draft board sheet, you’ll enter your overall pick number. Example: If you are making you’re selection for the 12th overall pick, you’ll enter 12 in the overall column next to the player you are drafting. Beside that you’ll enter the position of the player you are drafting, this is so that if you are drafting a player listed as a DE yet in your system he’ll be a LB this allows you to state that.

The Browns have already made their selection in drafting Teddy Bridgewater which will give you a visual on how this doc works.

Remember, you’ll still need to post your pick in the forum so that we know exactly who and at what time the pick was made, feel free to add all the bells and whistles you want but not to cluttering.

Also as a nice gesture, once you have made your selection in both the draft thread and the google doc, look to see who is next on the clock and PM them that it is their turn to pick.

If you happen to not find the player you are looking to draft in the google doc, go ahead and post the draftee in the draft thread, and I will update the google doc accordingly.

Thanks, any questions you have about the google doc, please use the discussion thread or PM me.

With the 1st Overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select... Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville Cap hit: $5,562,625.00

After bringing back Alex Mack and TJ Ward and adding major Free Agent additions such as Ben Tate, Jon Asamoah, Carlos Rogers, Daryl Smith and Phil Dawson... The Cleveland browns believe that we have one of the most talented overall rosters in the league and have been missing the main ingredient to success since 1999.

We understand that we give up good picks in a very good draft, but we are done waiting for us to get lucky. We decided to trade up and shape our own destiny.

We believe Teddy is in a very good position to succeed right away with 4 returning pro bowlers on offense including Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron as his main targets. With the addition of Ben Tate and Jon Asamoah, we believe our offense is very near complete.

We are poised to take the next step towards building a winner year in and year out!

With the 2nd overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft, The St.Louis Rams. Select Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina

Clowney - 6'5" 266 with 4.4 speed and the power to rag doll SEC OLs, JaDeveon Clowney is a freak of nature that will spend his rookie year like Robert Quinn did, as a rotational DE learning the game. Clowney will be taught by Mike Waufle, arguably the NFL's best DL Coach, and will play around 50% of the defensive snaps if he remains healthy. The Rams believe that Clowney gives them the best corp of DEs the NFL has seen in some time!

With the 3rd overall pick...the Jacksonville Jaguars select Khalil Mack OLB Buffalo.

We feel that Mack will bring an elite talent to one of the weaker spots on our roster. He can play three downs and is a very well rounded player who will solidify this defense greatly with his play-making abilities

With the 7th pick, in The 2014 NFL Draft. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select...

TE - Eric Ebron - University of North Carolina

We feel as though Ebron is a rare talent at the TE position. Adding a pass catching talent like him, is something we just didn't want to pass on. One of our main goals this off season was to improve the talent and weapons around Mike Glennon. With adding a player like Emmanuel Sanders to play the slot and now with adding Ebron, we feel as though we have accomplished that goal. They will really help Glennon continue to improve, and also open things up downfield for Vincent Jackson And Mike Williams. All in all we are very happy to have a talent like Ebron here in Tampa!

With the 9th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the St.Louis Rams Select....

Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M

Matthews - 6'6" 307 with impeccable bloodlines, impressive athleticism and underrated strength. The Rams are excited to grab a pro ready OL that can contribute at any spot on the line and take on the role as LT of the future. Matthews will likely slot in next to Jake Long at LG as a rookie while learning from one of the NFL's best in Coach Paul Boudreau. Welcome to St. Louis, Jake, Sam Bradford is excited to have you!

With the 11th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the Tennessee Titans select.....

Anthony Barr, OLB/DE, UCLA

We are thrilled that Anthony Barr has fallen out of the top ten and right to us at #11. With the switch to the hybrid 3-4 scheme we need more players that can potentially play OLB in the 3-4 scheme and we believe that Mr. Barr can do that very well. He can also continue learning under his former linebackers coach at UCLA. Welcome to the Music City Anthony!
