What do you guys think about DJ Hayden's NFL potential going forward based on what you've seen out of him in the few games he was on the field this season as well as his college tape? Do you think that he has the potential to be a Darrelle Revis or Richard Sherman type of physical lock down guy? Maybe a middle tier guy? Or do you think he'll be average to below average?

I think he can be the kind of CB who can get you the ball, but will get burned every now and then too. With his quick feet and nose for the ball, I think it would be prudent for him to be a little aggressive about it. I hope CWood chirps in his ear a lot.

Mayock did have him as the #1 CB in the draft. He has the skill set so hopefully it all comes together. Its hard to say...yeah he's gonna be a shutdown CB, those guys are rare...I don't think he's really that type. He more of a playmaker, he should make a ton of plays on the ball, get INTs, force fumbles, pick 6, all that good stuff.

Hopefully he becomes a good player for us.

Missed a lot of practice time in the offseason so he was already behind in one of the tougher positions to be in football. Getting bigger and stronger is gonna be key for him as he had trouble jamming receivers at the LOS. Most rookie corners struggle as they get adjusted to speed and physicality of the game so fans need to be patient.

My thoughts exactly. I see him being a guy kind of like DeAngelo Hall in terms of making plays, but occasionally getting burned for being too aggressive. In all honesty, that's what I want right now. We need guys who can create turnovers on the D.

IMO, you don't need to be a good tackler to be a #1 CB. As long as he can cover and create turnovers, then he can be a #1 corner.

Not to compare their skills at all, but Prime Time was possibly the worst tackler in NFL history and he was also one of the greatest corners.

He'll never be good enough for me......and because of that he will be a great CB, looking up to the sky like "BlackPrestige92, are you proud now? Are ya? Top of the world, BP92!"

But for real he'll be a playmaker, never a shutdown. I hate to make the comparison but he'll be Deangelo Hall-like. Pretty gross, I know....

In college he was a damn good tackler. I think he bounces back next season with a full offseason to get better.

Elite top 5

If he can stay healthy

His foot work is ideal
Can catch , great speed.

Oak D scheme wasn't kind to the db's since the DL couldn't get a pass rush.

So they were fored to blitz all over.

It takes time for cb to adjust

Once the pass rush is better and the overall talent on the d in general. He will be a gem IMO

I see a lot of people saying DHall but I don't think he'll get burnt as much. Idk why but the name that pops more into my head than DHall's is Tory James if we have to name an ex Raider.

+1 maybe the weak tackling had to do with him being timid coming back from the injury and the speed of the game.

honestly i think he has what it takes to be elite. He has great feet and COD ability, long arms and closes on the ball fast. His ball skills are also there...if he can put it all together and we help him out with a pass rush i think he can be a stud corner for us for years...
