Jermichael Finley ‏@JermichaelF88 8m
When you've got something to prove, there's nothing greater than a challenge. http://twitpic.com/dt5sbo

There wasn't a thread on him I'm pretty sure. If he is cleared, do you guys want him back?

This is how I feel. We have no history of clearing a C3/C4. Unless that was a false report....

I don't want him back.

For 6 years it's been potential. The last 2 of those, he was at the very top of the TE pay scale. He's flashed but never delivered on that potential. He's a FA and going to be expecting a decent FA contract, and I just don't see him as being worth it. Yes he was looking good prior to injury this year, but last year he was absolutely lazy. Even if he gets a medium priced 2-3 year deal, are you SURE you know if you are going to get the 2012 version or the 2013 version?

He's had his chance and it's passed. Time to move on.

I let him walk. Like the above poster mentioned, its always been potential. He played great before the injury, but it was also a contract year. He is a decent TE, but I think we can get similar production from someone who doesnt have such a serious injury to overcome. I really like what Bostick showed in limited chances this year and think he could prove to be a decent coup for us in the long run. I would feel safer spending my money on a Pettigrew or Davis rather than Finley.

And what kind of effort will he put forth?.....Let's face it, he had a pretty scary injury and one that could quite likely make him play timidly....

Agree with this. At some point potential needs to be realized, 6 years in the making is plenty of time to move from potential to production. Too many questions to be counting on him to be a big part of the offense.

I would much rather move forward with a draft pick and Q (returning on a modest contract.

He's better than anything else we've got. If we can sign him for 5-6 mil a year we'd be golden. He is still pretty young and we have to continue to add talent not lose it.

Exactly. There is not a single full season of Jermichael Finley that's been worth 5-6 mil, imo.

I'm thinking that injury to Finley kept him in Green Bay if he's going to play again. And he is a big threat; regardless of his drops, he makes the defense play the Packers differently.

Just want to say that it was NOT a false report. I wish Finley well but have my doubts about the man playing football gain. Come the end of all of this, it might be one of those cases where others need to hold him back from himself. Just not sure it makes sense. Even more so with the insurance policy in place and what he might make post injury. I mean, none of them are going to give him a monster deal right now. Man needs to prove it again. Would you guys be willing to turn down that huge policy payout for what might come on the second contract post injury?
