Interesting choice... don't know much about him aside from his family line. Any comments from Saints fans?

Lombardi really hasnt proven a single thing, so not really sure where that excitement comes from. He took over at QB coach after Drew Brees was already an established elite QB. Reminds me of what Caldwell did to get notoriety by hanging onto the coattails of an elite QB, without ever actually being a notably good coach.

This was the easiest way for the Lions to get a Lombardi.

Talking more from leadership and accountability standpoint. That was Detroits biggest issue

Lombardi is a good choice, he's a good coach.

I know Brees loves the guy, and he's done good with our backup QBs.

If he'll be calling plays not sure how he'll do there, overall I think it's a pretty decent hire. And another year we get one of our coaches stolen to become a new teams OC. Wonder who we'll hire next.

Lions loading up on coaches who have had experience working with great QBs. At the very least they'll be able to show Stafford how the best QBs approached the game.
