Hi Justo. I am a great fan of yours. One question: Why do you rate Dennard over Gilbert?

I feel like just because we stuck one 350 pound guy at DE doesn't mean we'll put them all at DE. I have to think Ellis is a better fit at NT.

Nice mock.

Me likey. If we walk away with Dennard and Tuitt........well, I'll be a happy camper. I need to watch Ward's games but if he's like Weddle(who I was obsessed over back when he was in the draft) then I'm sure I'll like him. Ellis is my mid round fat boy that I like so far. The only problem I have with this roster is the glaring hole that is Brad Jones in the starting lineup(probably wishful thinking that we will replace him though).

I think Dennard's the best CB we've seen since Patrick Peterson. If we can get him, it's a huge win, IMO.

Nah, I just feel like Ellis is better as a 34DE than NT. Just because he's big doesn't mean he can anchor like a NT. That's my issue with him as a NT.

FB Kuhn
WR Nelson, Cobb, Boykin, Bryant, Harper, Dorsey, White, Walker, Gillett, Cunningham
TE Rodgers, Quarless, Bostick, Taylor, Stoneburner
OT Bulaga, Bakhtiari, Sherrod, Bitonio, Barclay, Adams
OG Sitton, Lang, Van Roten, Taylor, Coleman, Tiller

ILB Hawk, Jones, Francois, Barrington, Lattimore, Zumwalt, Aiyewa
CB Shields, Dennard, Hayward, House, Hyde, Bush, Nixon, Rolle
FS Ward, Jennings
SS Burnett, Banjo, Richardson
SPT Crosby, Masthay, Goode

-Dennard a legit outside CB, which we don't have besides Shields. Hayward still an inside type of CB.
-Tuitt a great LE rotational piece behind Jolly and a potential RE on running downs. Daniels/Jones are RE only types and Worthy/Boyd are unproven LE depth.
-Ward could be a legit starting FS. Reminds me of Weddle.
-Rodgers is the last "great" TE prospect (pass catcher) left on the board. Bostick++.
-Bryant is a pure value pick. With Nelson/Cobb deals running to the end at Jones seemingly leaving, a very solid pick.
-Ellis is a 350-pounder who can move. Not sure if he's a NT type, but we can try him at DE/NT. Worth a flier because his upside is insane.
-Bitonio is BPA. RT type. Sherrod as a LT backup, Bitonio as a OG/RT backup. Tretter as a OG/OC. A perfect match for the OL, likely to roll with those 8 in the regular season, assuming there's no injuries..
-Zumwalt brings the boom. Special teamer if nothing else, and will elevate the competition at ILB.
-Storm Johnson reminds me a lot of Starks. A traditional back combined with power backs (Lacy/Harris) and a spread friendly back (Franklin) can be a lot for a defense to prep for.

I agree with where we'll have our comp picks, but we're set along the O-line, back-ups included. Why do we need another OL? BPA doesn't fit in here and if we blow a pick on an OL, that's one less pick we have to fix our issues at S and LB. The Jimmy Ward pick makes sense but he's a SS, not a FS. I assume you think we should move him to FS? He's going to have to work on his ugly 40 time as well. Zumwalt would be an absolute steal in the 6th but drafting Storm Johnson is blowing a pick on a guy who will probably head to the PS. We've got Lacy, Franklin, and Harris; no reason to draft a RB. Other than that, not too shabby other than the fact a 2nd Safety and an OLB should be picked somewhere. I don't think you want to see more of Andy Mulumba and Nate Palmer out there at the same time.

If we could get a RT/OG swing guy, I think that's something we'd do.

Tretter OC/OG
Sherrod LT

Besides that, there's no OL backup locks on the team. I don't think Barclay is an OG moving forward. Bitonio on the other hand could play RT at a decent level, IMO.

I think Ward is listed as SS, but he plays more of a hybrid S role, and I think he could play FS. We'll see this week. He'll play a lot of single high as you're only allowed to run cover 1/3 at the Senior Bowl. Johnson would be in case Franklin or Harris crap the bed in the preseason. It's not like we haven't carried 4 RBs and a FB before, either.

I guess if he lasts that long. Dude is better than most realize. Look what he did to KVN and Barr.

I really like this format Justo. We get to see who you think might be available and deserving of the tier that goes with the pick.

Have you mentioned elsewhere why you no likey receivers in this year's draft. We might be Jones-less after FA is concluded.

Kelvin Benjamin, Abbredaris, Mike Davis...aren't there realistic WR possibilities at some of our draft slots?

EDIT: I looked back and saw a shipload of WR's on your roster. Do you like any of those guys after Boykin to actually make the team?

Pryor will likely go in the 1st or early 2nd, Nix will not fall back enough to trade back for IMO, and Tuitt will go mid first.

Agreed. I'm just picking for GB in those situations.

I just don't think WR is a big need. You need someone for the future, but unless someone drops to you (like Beckham in the 2nd), then just take one Day 3. Isn't Benjamin making a run with Mike Evans for the WR2 spot in the draft?
