Does anyone recall seeing Ted at these kind of events talk to any of the kids he actually drafted?

Its rare that someone we draft in round 2-7 is someone we havent met with prior to the draft. They just meet with so many it is hard to pinpoint anything.

Maybe I should rephrase that question - were there any kids TT interviewed more than once that we ultimately drafted? You are right, of course. Ted isn't going to draft a kid he or his staff never talked to. Embarassed

According to Walters, TT also spoke with Max Bullough.

(hopefully just to get ideas on where to eat)

I remember seeing this last week or a little before that

haven't watched anything on OL yet, but wouldn't mind another C prospect to go with Tretter, assuming we lose EDS

I don't know...I think some guys you may not benefit much from talking with. I don't think there was any clamor about the front office talking with Hawk. In my mind, you touch bases with people you're interested in, but really do the homework on guys with question marks or "upside."

I would be interested to know what percentage of the prospects the organization looks at get personally eye-balled by Ted. Anyone have an idea on that?

They take guys all the time they never say a word to..

But if we take 8 or 9 S/ILBs I'm cool with that.

Just glancing through the 2012 version of this thread, we drafted 3 players mentioned in the thread (BJ Coleman and Jerel Worthy were directly mentioned in reports and someone speculated that TT visited Iowa's pro day to scout Mike Daniels).
Also (the last post in the thread):

Worth noting.

The most interesting thing about the thread (in hindsight) is a few pages of bickering about whether GB should take Shea McClellin. Laughing

Here's the list from last year.

http://lombardiave.com/2013/04/13/here-is-a-list-of-players-the-green-bay-packers-shown-a-pre-draft-interest/

Note: 4 of the 7 guys that were brought in for private workouts were actually drafted by us and note who they are as well.

As for Tre Boston, I really think a late 6th round grade is appropriate for him. I saw him play at UNC this past year and despite the media hyping him, he really wasn't all that effective at all. Frankly, I think he's a very overrated prospect despite what the numbers will tell you. I'd be ok drafting him if he were the 2nd or 3rd Safety that we drafted but I'm telling you now, he's no upgrade over who we currently have.

If they could have they should have. Just because Emery doesn't know how to properly utilize his picks (Shea at DE, letting Major Wright play, doesn't mean he wouldn't be a boom here. I'd still trade for him.

Looking back on Bears drafts 2009 on.... My god do the suck at drafting.
