Looks like the much vaunted TE coach Mike Pope is not going to be kept.

Wonder if this is the new OCs first decision

Jerald Ingram RB coach is gone too..
Sean Ryan QB coach is supposed to take on a new role.

Lots of changes. Surprised by Pope the most. Amazing TE coach.

Probably going to get skewered for saying this but I never understood why he was so vaunted. I understand he got decent production out of players the like of Ballard and Boss. And he's been here a long long time. But according to what I've read the only Pro Bowl TE's he's had under his reign have been Shockey, Stephen Alexander, Ben Coates, Rod Holman, and Mark Bavaro. Aside from Bavaro who is probably considered among the best TE's to play ever no one else really stands out. I guess it can attributed to the Giants not drafting TE at a high premium draft position aside from Shockey. It's certainly impressive that he could take guys like Ballard and Boss and coach them up to starters. But doesn't seem like he could take a good talent and make them great (Shockey). Just my .02

As to whether he should have been let go or not I have to believe it has more to do with McAdoo wanting to run a specific system Pope didn't buy into rather then Pope's recent success at the position. Although Myers lack of production and Robinson's lack of ability to get on the field are troubling.

I dont know if this is Top management making these decisions or if this is the new OC making these calls because he wants his "guys" for the offense. Either way..they are changes things up and sending a clear message throughout the entire organization; which is something that needed to be done.

Exactly. It's time we start acting like it again!

But I agree with the previous post above...I dont have any suggestions or clues on how we are keeping Quinn on staff! He should have been had his bags packed before we finished the final regular season game.

Huh. I really liked both Ingram and Pope. Interested to see who Mcadoo brings in.

Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.

yea no. You don't tell your head coach that if he doesn't get rid of two random asisstance he's fired. That's just silly and beyond disrespectful. O/D Coordinators? Sure.

I think it's just the fact that Mike Pope teaches his Tight Ends only one way, Block first Catch passes second. Was probably the reason Shockey was always unhappy here when he didn't get the ball 24/7.

This probably signals that Mcadoo wants the TE and RB to do things differently than what Mike Pope and Jerald Ingram are used to so it was time to move on.

Besides, he couldn't even get Travis Beckham to do anything so it's not like he always produces magic Rolling Eyes
