Quote:
Whether it's rookie Derek Carr or veteran Matt Schaub at quarterback for the Raiders come Week 1, Oakland plans to lean heavily on its ground game.

"We're gonna run the ball, run the ball, then run it again, until the defense stops us," offensive tackle Donald Penn told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Monday.

After beefing up Oakland's front five with the addition of Penn and guard Austin Howard, general manager Reggie McKenzie mined the open market to add running back Maurice Jones-Drew alongside the re-signed Darren McFadden.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000363746/article/taiwan-jones-raiders-vets-see-team-close-to-winning

Quote:
Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie used this offseason to infuse Oakland's locker room with a laundry list of veteran players.

After enduring back-to-back four-win campaigns, special teamer Taiwan Jones believes this year's more experienced roster will help the Silver and Black get out of the AFC West cellar.

"I truly believe that it's different here," said Jones, per the team's official website. "When you have veterans that have been in the game a long time and that have been able to accomplish the goals that we're trying to accomplish this year, it definitely feels good because you get to see and hear advice from those guys and hear them say that we're close and that it's possible."

Anybody see the Clowney training camp video? He absolutely destroyed his own teammate with the same hit that went viral against MIA his quickness is lethal.

Pass. As much as I respect his game you can't have that much of the salary cap designated to one dude, even if he worth it. Having several young B+ players > One veteran A+ player surrounded by garage.

I agree, unless that guy is a franchise QB you shouldn't break the bank on guys. Thats why the cowboys are the way they are now.

Atleast he is an A+ player, AL broke the bank for far less.

The things is getting "several B+" players is a lot easier said than done.
