He has not been good at all lately, but I'm gonna miss him. If Snee is gone as well this year, our OL will have no pieces remaining from the 2007 SB season.

Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.

A wise decision. I have nothing but respect for Diehl. He's been a real pro for us for a long time. He played, and gave 100%, at any position that was asked of him. He hasn't been himself for several years, but it's not because of lack of passion. I'd be a happy fan if we could land another David Diehl in the fifth round of this year's draft.

I have mixed feelings about this. I know the guy is finished and he was getting beat like he stole something on ever play but he's the last lineman from that great 2007 team that I will remember for the rest of my life...He was everything we could have asked of him and I wish him the best.

He just hasn't been the same player in a long time. When he was younger he was a stud and a great asset on the line. Jack or all trades. The last few seasons he's just been a turnstile. I'm not sure which site it was but Diehl finished bottom 5 or last in each year of the individual starting O-lineman ranking. It's been long overdue. Wish instead of retiring he went to a division rival so we could pad some sack stats against them Twisted Evil
