While we have mainly been focusing on picking up a offensive weapon in the passing game, a WR or TE. With that being said, would a feature RB be in the plans too?

Our current RBs.

Deangelo Williams - He's getting older, still has some moves; but presents a problem with the cap.

Jonathan Stewart - He's been injury prone since he's been here and virtually missed this entire season. His cap number is not friendly. When he's playing, he's good; but not sure he's worth the cash anymore given the amount he plays.

Mike Tolbert - He's a short yardage specialist. He could probably run the ball for us 20 times a game, but he's not a home run threat.

Kenjon Barner - A question mark. We don't know what he presents in the NFL due to lack of playing time. He's a little guy, so I don't think he'd have much success between the tackles, but appears that he could do some damagae in the open field. Could end up being a Darren Sproles type back.

This draft seems to have a lot of guys in the middle of the rounds; such as Kadeem Carey, Melvin Gordon, Lache Seastrunk, Carlos Hyde, and more.

There is also some decent free agents out there; Donald Brown, Ben Tate, and Darren McFadden.

First, is RB a need? If so, what do we do with our current crop of RBs and who do we go after?

No its not a need but how our offense was built it made it a need...I would keep Stew as the feature back next year because of the contract but the Panthers offense should go more towards a passing attack like Cam's first season.

I don't think so. We have too many players at the position right now, and our playcalling doesn't allow for a single running back to get any sort of momentum (Tolbert had 8 carries, Williams had 5 carries today). If we fix the o-line problems and focus on one running back then I think we will be fine

Absolutely not a need. Help along the offensive line will fix our running woes.

However...let's say we sign a LT in free agency (Monroe...Veldheer...etc), move Gross to RT, and Kugbila and Silatolu become efficient guards. I think we could look to revamp the RB position. Tre Mason sure does look appealing

I would love be rid of 34 and 28. Start a new with Tolbert and a new face.
But ya, OL and WR are higher priorities.

The right side of the OL. I've been saying it all season.

There isn't much we can do. We would not be in a good position cap wise to let go of Stewart and while we could cut Williams... where does that leave us? No reason to ever trust Stew to stay healthy. We could take a flier on a back in the third round but other than that, we may be stuck with what we have. Williams goes down on first contact way too much for my liking but still shows signs of explosiveness from time to time and like I said, no reason to think Stew can stay healthy for 16 games anymore.

I agree with the others. First and foremost, the offensive line needs to improve. It is a shame Amini Silatolu had gotten injured - he had shown some very good improvement. So I'm not worried about that spot on the line and center is obviously locked down. Who knows what Gross decides to do as far as retirement and his contract is up anyway. Even if he stays, I would still look at a future left tackle. Might be good enough to allow us to move Gross to RT which might fit him better at this stage of his career.

If we do decide to revamp the RB position through the draft this is who I'd want:

Bishop Sankey, UW

Dude is like Frank Gore Jr.

anybody who watches our games should know running back is a need. we have to mid level backs at BEST who are at the end of their careers. i would say its our 4th biggest need. WR, OL, CB, RB, S

The reason our RBs are ineffective is because of the oline play. Revamp the oline then restructure their contracts.
