Ya boy drawing rave reviews at Shrine practice.

Apparently he put a filthy double move on Desir and Garappolo hit him down the sideline for the TD.

Is it just me or do these threads with 10+ gifs on one page absolutely kill my computer? Laughing

It's worth it to get an accurate picture of a prospect rather than watching 3-20 minutes worth of film, get a snap shot of him in several gifs and go look for validation.

rumor is you need to add around half an inch to all heights when you compare them to the combine, they measure short at the East-West weigh ins.

I have seen that reported on several draft sites. This is from RealGM:

Quote:
Iíve had the opportunity to meet and stand with many of these players, and I can attest that they are correct in grumbling about their height measurement issues. The official weigh-ins, which are not made public, were obtained by my friend and colleague Kyle Crabbs at NFL Draft Tracker and can be found here. A good rule of thumb is to add a half-inch to every payer above six feet tall. Two different agents have informed me the players were told to put their heads down when being measures, and I absolutely know guys like Desir and Wisconsin OL Ryan Groy are taller than their listings. Iím exactly 6í5Ē and Iíve seen Groy both in pads and in the team hotel and we are dead-on eye to eye. As an aside, Groy is a genuinely nice guy and one to root for.

I love this kid's hands technique. How many people can actually identify this? How many people actually know what "good" technique is?

Nice GIFs. He is certainly well coordinated and comfortable extending to the edge of his catch radius to pluck it.

The whole "how many people" bit though...
Confused

It's a genuine question that no one wants to answer because no one wants to hear the truth. When I read a scouting report on a player that "has great hands" and then the tape shows otherwise, I start questioning if people know what they are looking at.

Yeah, it's definitely good to actually have evidence to support a claim that someone has good hands.

But again with the whole "no one wants to hear the truth" thing... I would just make a friendly suggestion to take it easy on that. It sort of makes it sound like you are overtly claiming you know better than everyone else (which to some extent may be true, you're very knowledgeable, but it doesn't really mesh well with the forum environment IMO).

Yeah, we're all basically hobbyists who are interested in this stuff, and as much as most want to pretend, we don't know what we're looking at, but still are able to form strong opinions either way.

Thanks for sharing those gifs. No way of knowing if you are correct on proper technique, I have no idea who you are or your credentials, but definitely something I'll be looking for regardless in the future.

Found this a long while back, nice breakdown.
