Get the QB up and going. There is talent to work with.

Redskins TE coach Sean McVay is expected to become Washington's OC, per league sources, Raheem Morris a possible defensive coordinator.

I agree with Estonian when he said, there isn't a single team out their that loves their OC. I laugh at the people who call JG a bad coordinator. He worked wonders with the talent their. Even Seattle fans call Bevell a bad coordinator all the time during their games, when he is basically outcoaching the other team. People can't be happy on these forums regarding personnel.

Like I said before....even though he isnt a great coordinator doesnt mean he cant be a good head coach.

However, the Reskins have a habit of hiring terrible coaches. Shannahan lost it years ago and shouldnt have been hired in the first place.

Jim Haslett will remain the Redskins D coordinator in Washington, according to sources on Jay Gruden's new staff

Shocked

Wow....thats a bad sign right there if true.

Haslett is not a good DC and never has been.

Terrible DC but if Raheem Morris was their DC they would be the Worst Defense Ever

Fantasy owners of Gio Bernard rejoice in the streets!

The Bengals were blessed with offensive talent and held back because of Dalton and Gruden. Step in the right direction for the Bengals. His play calling was suspect and his personnel decisions were mind boggling.

Better coach than what I thought they would get. I mean, where's the talent in the pipeline? RGIII is a talent, they got that Rb, but they don't have their #1, didn't have a #1 last year...

Not exactly sure where their salary cap is, but I think it gets back to pretty manageable this year. But going into FA is paying a premium for talent.

WHat I see as being a major problem is that Washington fans have got to be grumpy and they just got a taste of success. Most coaches, I think, need a minimum of 3 years to even know what direction the team is going in. Because of the lost #1, you gotta at least give 4 years. Is Snyder going to do that? Are the Washington fans going to accept that?

Gruden is taking a huge risk here. Fail, and it can be years til you get another chance. You're dealing with a bad owner and a franchise that needs a really strong personality. At the end of the day, this was a great hire by Washington because I expected they'd have to go with a retread or a failed guy looking for one last chance.

He was alright for awhile for the Bengals. But his play calling was extremely questionable at times and IMO he doesn't use his personnel right.

IE: running a pitch play to BJGE on 3rd and 2
Or

Putting Gio in on 3rd and goal up the middle

Or

In the playoffs on 4th and 3 going deep

I've never heard any fan base at any time praise their offensive coordinator for more than 1-2 seasons.

Same. Every fanbase hates their OC.

I know that.
That being said, he is a great guy and I'm happy for him. I hope he can bring the Redskins around. His creativity sometimes can be his downfall. But he's definitely a players coach and I think the guys in the locker room will love him

The Bengals issues offensively were moer due to Andy Dalton having limited talent and folding in pressure games. He pretty much got the max out of Dalton.

Yeah. "Bad OC" is ignorant to say when he had a QB who couldn't execute the gameplan.

Easy to point fingers.

The guy who convinced the Bengals to draft Dalton over Kaep, partly because he "wasn’t really into the read-option stuff", is now leaving to coach RG3?

Lol.
