The announcer during the go daddy bowl just said only 2 qbs have been seated as sophomores ala Manziel. Got me thinking how have they panned out, what are the results in case we draft Johnny football. Well I googled it and can't find out who they are. Any help to see how they fared?

Michael Vick was a redshirt sophomore like Manziel. Tommy Maddox and Todd Marinovich were other redshirt sophomore that went in the first round.

So none were overly successful, you can claim Vick I guess, but he didn't do anything when it counted

I think most prospects understand that experience is extremely valuable. Manziel is a piece. Huge ego which will not help him in the league especially w/ the height situation.

I agree, I think qbs are being put into failure everywhere when they need more time to develop. I think brock osweiler will succeed after peyton because he was allowed to develop, more qbs need that, if manziel gets put into the wrong situation who the hell knows what could happen

I envy the Broncos and Patriots. Osweiler and Mallet should be ready to come in and take over right away once those two hang them up. I wish we had that..... even half of it haha

Painter was never a serious developmental prospect. In 2009 Peyton would have thrown the hissy fits he's known for. Fast forward, everyone is totally on board developing Osweiler.
