now that's a distinct possibility.

He'll go nicely with Julius peppers.

Haha no kidding. A couple of ghetto vets looking for a ring before their time is up. I would welcome both and think playing beside McCoy would do wonders for their games.

If I'm looking for a ring, I'm going to Denver, Seattle, San Fran, New England or maybe Indy.

No way am I coming to Glennon town, and if it isn't him, it'll be a rookie. Likely a good rookie if any, but a rookie. If I'm either of those guys, I don't have time to wait for them. Now, if they want to play their final years with a coach they like, Tampa is an option.

I was kinda kidding about the ring thing... kinda Wink

These guys know what they are worth and I doubt they take a hit that bad in their pockets to go to one of these teams. Seahawks, Pats, 9ers (they have a ton of guys to sign) have no cap. Colts also run a 3-4 so that takes them out of the equation but I get what you are trying to say.

Anyone know how much more Rod Marinelli has on his Dallas contract? Just curious. Did he sign a 2 year deal through 2014 or 3 year deal through 2015?

Reports were it was a two year deal whereas Kiffin only signed a one year deal.

Well he'll be coaching up the DL in 2015 for Tampa then. Haha. Thanks man.

I think they want Rod as their DC. I think Rod wants to be in Tampa.

I wouldnt want to work for Jerry Jones either. Rob Ryan is laughing currently as we speak.

I just want the Marinelli/McCoy pairing. That will take off his career.

Rod doesn't have to take the promotion though, and I doubt he will. Tampa in 2015!

Likely. He's great. Although I don't think this narrative is done just yet.

A few facts to consider:

1. Rod doesn't want to be DC.
Last time he was Lovie's DC as a favor to Lovie. He much prefers to be the DL coach. Which brings me to my second point...
2. Tampa never once (per Dallas reporters) asked permission to interview Rod. But that doesn't mean they won't. It is possible they want him for DL coach. Which would actually make more sense.

Yeah it could be a while if good ol Jerry lets him take a lateral position. Why keep a coach who absolutely wants nothing to do with that team?

Still not sure if Jerry sticks with a 4-3 Tampa 2.

Seems silly then that he agreed to come and coach a team that he wanted absolutely nothing to do with, no?

Came with Monte Kiffin. He's not coming back most likely.

True...but Kiffin signed a one year deal. Rod signed a two year deal - even knowing his best friend would likely find a job within a year. Just saying there is a real chance you still get him - but the hyperbole of him wanting "absolutely nothing to do with Dallas" is hilarious. And not grounded in realism.

Hm, after last year, and Lovie heading back to Tampa, I wouldn't say it is "Hilarious" as you think. Things change after a season.

I agree, Jerra could promote Rod to assistant head coach title and increase his salary to help offset the frustration of not helping his friend Lovie.

I'm just curious if the 'Boys still stay a 4-3 team. I guess they would, but with Jerra you never know.

Jason prefers the 4-3. And so does Jerry. So I would be shocked if we moved back to the 3-4. Personally, I prefer the 3-4.

But we will see. I wake up everyday expecting to read that Tampa finally asked permission to speak to Rod. And everyday I breath a giant sigh of relief. Laughing

Everything I have read suggests Monte is out, so I'm assuming Rod would just get the DC title also. I'm surprised there has been that much of a hold up. What do you think is the reason? Does Jerry have another candidate he might want more then Rod (like Jim Schwartz with the wide 9 for example)?
